2001 ML55 VS. Chrysler Crossfire

This was a few years back when I still owned my ML55. I took it one fine spring day for "Test and Tune" at a local track here, and since it was spring time I had my 20"s on. I line up next to this brand spankin new Chrysler Crossfire, the car still had temporary plates on them. He revs up and smokes his tires and then reverses back to the line, since my ML is AWD all I do is just rev my engine in nuetral. So now we're lined up, with the car in D I put my left foot on the brakes and rev the car as high as I could. Lights go green and I release the brakes and immediately he pulls ahead, but not by much. Then the Big AMG V8 starts to growl and the gears start to shift. Car's in second gear now and it just keeps pulling, I look over at the Crossfire and things seems to move in slow motion. I can hear the engine revving but it doesn't seem as though I gaining any ground. Car shifts to Third gear and slowly I can see that I'm inching away. By the time we get to the finish line:
AMG ML55 ET: 15.402, MPH 92.62, R/T .617,
Crossfire ET: 15.531, MPH 92.18, R/T .57
Temp 73, Humidity 21
