You've got to pay to play...
Driving down "a fwy in Mexico" on Saturday I see a Rosso Red F-car in my rear view. I can tell he's trying to get up to me but he's a few cars back and all the lanes have slowpoke vehicle in them, lined up like a rolling roadblock. Having already embarrassed a yellow F360 on the 10 four months back I'm not too interested. I'm cruising about 75mph. Eventually he cuts across a few lanes and ends up in front of me by two cars. It's clear he's intent on running me (so much for buying a black sedan to fit in with commuter traffic). I notice it's not an F360 but its replacement, the F430. I tell gf who is sat calmly in my passenger seat that if conditions become safe then a small run may be in order. I get the "I guess" nod. Good girl.
Neither of us are pushing it as traffic is a little heavy and a little 350Z (it's usually them or the InfinitiG35 I have to constantly ignore) has got in between us and is buzzing around dangerously. This cruising continues for about six miles and my exit is coming up so I move to the far right. At this point the F-car and I are separated by three lanes but traffic has thinned out almost entirely. The Ricemobile is behind the F-car.
He hits it. I hit it. We ran from 80 to 140 and my M did me proud in not losing a single yard after he got the initial jump. As I slowed there was no chance for a thumbs up as I was under orders to not miss my exit but it was a fun and safe run on a stretch of road with no cars in front of us and my V1 on full alert.
As I exited I heard what sounded like a bout of flatulence and peered back onto the fwy to see the 350Z fly past. He'd been left by dozens upon dozens of car lengths.
"You've got to pay to play," I remarked in an admittedly smug way.

Got to love the "nonchalance" of the female passenger. Of course until they're driving then its death to everyone in their way. No offense ladies.

Just to add, I realize the F430 like the M5 is not a drag car and the F-car experience is a joy to behold. I have experience, albeit limited, behind the wheel of a friend's F430 driving to Palm Springs.
While not surprised, I was still pleased to see my M5 perform so well in the real world. I was in S5 not S6 but it didn't seem to slow me down much and performed admirably for a 3,900lb sedan.
