ROAD RAGE GOTCHA

[QUOTE=ytryc32amg;2828876]I believe your statement is right on point, if we had learned to drive like the germans in europe it probabily would cause less tension between drivers.
ogh....i love driving in germany for that same reason. first of all, no speed limit. secondly, people respect the fact that someone else needs to travel in the road faster than them, and certain cars have ability to go faster than other within reasonable safety.
i think another difference between us and germany highways, is that when you are traveling 140mph vs. 70, you actually more likely to think about consequences of a mistake.
now, germany is full of people who drive like sh*t as well. especially in the small rural areas. so i guess, it doesn really matter where you are driving bloody assheads are everywhere.
off topic: a month or so ago, a guy in a minivan in an opposite late could not control his car coming out of the turn, went into my lane and blew off my side mirror, and chipped my shoulder (i was on my bike) causing me to fight for my life trying to stay on the bike(speed wobbles are not exactly fun, although will give you enough of adrenalin to not sleep a couple of days). I did not lie minivans before, i dont like them even more now.
anyhow, i just wish we all could drive a little safer. and just ignore idiots on the road. after all, things like this simply might ruin you day (if not a life). it is just not worth it.
just ask yourselves "what would jesus do?" question. it helps me sometimes

I read a couple of studies a few years ago that put 85-95% of all road rage and aggressive driving as being attributable to slow traffic in the left lane. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I've thought about buying several small commercial properties along some of the more heavily traveled roads in our area so that I could put up billboards that say "Slower traffic KEEP RIGHT".

To be fair, hazy1 already posted he was aware of this
Nothing personal, but most of the time when you are in this kind of situations there are a lot of other cars around you and the other idiot. just think of the accident you might cause, and someone may get hurt! do you think it is worth it, to take that risk just to prove some idiot that he is in fact an idiot.

I deal with schmucks like this every day on the NJ Turnpike. There are a million ways to deal with them. 99% of the time all it takes is a little swerving combined with madly flashing highbeams. Anyone following me too close gets a brake-checking they will not soon forget (14-inch rotors like to stop).

They're very touchy buggers but DAMN are they there when you need them. I've panic stopped in situations that would spell certain death for 99.9% of other autos. They are amazing for brake checks.

I hit the brakes pretty good and he slamed on his brakes and drifted into the other lane in the process. The problem was that there was a young mother in the other lane with a couple of young kids in the back and he nearly ran her off the road. I felt like a complete ******* for nearly killing this innocent family to prove a point to some dip*****.
Best bet is to slow down gradually, and go really slow. They get the point. Need to watch out and pick your spots.
