SLK32 vs S4

Over in New England this week and made a quick trip through a nice part of Mexico called Maine.. S4 passed me on the highway when I was cruising ~85.. His gf was sleeping at the time.. I started playing with him a little bit and when traffic finally cleared he got on it and naturally I did too. I was pulling pretty hard on him. later gf was cheesin at me :p

had an encounter with b7 S4. jeez the car sounded orgasmic. as soon as he saw me, he wanted to play( how i know? he played a nice tune for me with his exhaust). the freeway was pretty empty. after a couple of miles, i was thinking "hmmm i would think S4 would be a little faster"

the car looked stock, driven by a mid 30's guy.

grunt, the car's rear end looked just like the black one in your sig. I was pulling on him racing between ~100-~120. Finally his gf probably made him give up

Sounds like a Stage I car to me haha. You would've annihilated a stock s4.

Nice run.

Hmm SLK 32s run low 13s@108 give or take. Quick as a CLK 55. I guess the Stage 1 S4 runs out of steam at those speeds.

I give or take on that situation, because considering that it has an awd setup you would think they would lose on top end but i guess it depends on the situation. As far as a stage 1 s4 goes they're not the greatest from a roll but from a stop they can really pull depending on the driver. One of my friends i believe that has a b5 s4 said he switched his ko3 turbos to ko4s and got it chipped. I couldn't believe that when I went to track he ran a 12.4 on his first run and then his second run a 12.1. I dont remember how much he is putting to the wheels at this point, but I rode his car and it pulls really strong. Considering the fact he annihilated my friends e55 from a stop and from a roll he walked him from 40-145 twice. I dont know much about audi's and please correct me if my info inaccurate I'm just telling you guys what I saw with my own eyes. I'm curious to know more about b5 s4 since I'm not feeling the same power that I felt in my c32. What do you guys think.

Yes, once a B5 S4 goes Stg3 they get nasty. These days, S4 Stg3 tunes are common and almost pedestrian for Audi guys.

A good friend of mine recently put down 553 awhp on his S4 EPL Stg3+. This is a tune package using Rs6 turbo's instead of Ko4's as well as dump valves and FIBI's ( Freakin' Insanely Big Injectors ! ) . This was on a Mustang dyno.

Lots of forged parts on an Audi block, so all you need are forged rods like Scats or Verdi's, HD bolts and they'll take 600+ all day.

There are several video's and threads of cars like his on Audiworld.

Before I sold my 1st gen S4 it was putting down close to 300 at the wheels with only 1500.00 in mods.

I always believed that MBZ and Audi made the best German cars. Both marques take heavy mods well....and prove to be reliable even at close to double their original hp outputs.

Why did you sell the S4? Personally I don't like FI cars. Great hp potential but don't want to worry about reliability issues.

My s4 was the 5cyl 20 valve turbo that put AUdi on the map. I chose it because of its reliability.

I had almost no problems w/ that car. The biggest problem is the Slippery Slope club membership.

Once you start w/ a ECU,exhaust, then bigger turbo, injectors, bigger fuel maps, pumps, it never ends. And, w/ FI....there never seems to be enough contentment. A lot of it has to do w/ the quattro being able to put so much of the HP to the ground.

It was getting too expensive.

They sound great but like the AMV8, don't really go all that quick. Also, B7 is hard to get more power from so was likely stock.

What everyone needs to remember about the B6/B7 S4 is that although they have the wonderful V8, they have to haul all the extra weight from the Quattro around. That's a huge penalty. However when things get wet, there's nothing I'd rather be in. Not only are they rock solid in the wet stuff, but I've made plenty of M5 owners really upset from a dig in the rain.
