02 ML55 vs RR Sport Supercharged

Sitting at the light as a new RR pulls up - it is the smaller supercharged version...all blacked out with some crazy 22"+ Size wheels...dude rolled down the wondow and nodded at me

So away we went....I pulled out in front with minimal chirp, he was about 1/2 car behind...kept her in 3rd revving all the way out and noticed him 1 full car length behind, clicked down to D and had the speedo up past 120mph as I slowed her back down!! I love my AMG

Next light he pulls up and wants to go again!!! I faked him out and laughed for minutes as I watch him tear away down the road!!!

He had another guy in the front...I had my 13yo daughter who by the way thinks her dad is the biggest jerk on earth...probably because I threatened canceling her allowance if mom ever hears of that stunt!

Bit racist.

Anyhow, the 5.5l pulls well. With 22"s he made your task even easier.

I ripped the doors of a RR sport S/c and Range Rover S/C, its pretty much rape from dig or roll, any gear. My neighbor has a Range Rover supercharged and had a Range Rover Sport Supercharged but wanted more room hence he went for the full RR, my father raced both his cars and ate them badly as well.

I even had one guy roll up to me after killing one to tell me that he traded in his ML55 for his Range Rover Sport, he regretted it haha.

Going to get rid of two of the 5 cats, we'll see how much power that free's up.

Ive seen the stupid RangeR superchrge commercial many times and they make it seem fast. Its more like a over size gas guzzler.

Okay, Jon.

It's a nice car. Good off road, handsome and safe. For 5700lbs, 7.4 0-60 is pretty fast. Certain reliability issues and too many on the roads are the only downsides for this car as a second vehicle. That's why I've steered clear.

Anyone driving a SC Range Rover, sport or otherwise, thinking that they have a race car is seriously deluded. When I'm in my SC Rover next to another SUV interested in racing I simply give the "thumbs up nice run" and save a ton of gas by not racing. The car is heavy and slow, but with its comfy air cooled seats, entertainment system with video, and reasonably good stereo, it's a good little (sic) highway cruiser. I personally got the SC model because I liked the extra power for motoring up hills and, most importantly, the SC badge looks good on the silver painted body.

I've always loved the styling and comfort of the RR. Coachwork is first class top notch. My issuse from day 1 has been the same as everyone elses....electronics, and overall reliability. If you get a good one, great. If you don't....you're in big trouble. I agree with you that SUV's shouldn't be racing and commend you for resisting the temptation!

I test drove the S/C one once. Great ride, timeless styling, but for a S/C V8 it was oting to great.

It is definetly fast than my girls ML 430 but it didn't feel that much better.

Whatever there's gas in...
I learned the hard way in my son's RR S/C (full size) back in the day...

Long story short, Ford Lightnings are INSANE!
