Actually, the dealers are WELL aware of the situation with the piggyback ECU's and most are plugging in the cars and reading the boost levels and stuff like that immediately voiding warranties. The piggybacks have that problem I guess.
Would a simple ECU reset fix this problem? I'm not sure. I never seemed to have this issue with the Audi and I was running 23 psi and just put it back to 'stock' mode when I took it in.

well what i read is that the Dinan is not voiding your warranty? thats what i found when i searched last night. i could be completely wrong though.
Edit: BMW will actually install the Dinan stuff for you, and it sounds like you can order a 335i that way from the dealer and roll it into the financing?

perhaps, though it is significantly more expensive. if i may, i would suggest checking over at e90post.com in the forced induction part regarding the new piggybacks that i think are now being made to be invisible to the new software updates and changes that BMW is implementing.

The 335 is one of those cars that REALLY PISSES OFF E60 M5/E63 M6 people, such as myself lol(jealousy factor)...with a simple ecu, that car can be as fast as either of our cars...I have a very heavily modded m6, and came across a "very stock looking" 335i about 2 months ago...i was able to get ZERO separation on him until the very end of 3rd gear heading into 4th. Just wish it was as easy to mod my car as it is to mod that one lol

How? On race gas with DRs or slicks? That's not exactly easy. No LSD, high oil temps on track days...no thanks. I'll take the M3.

heavily modded- Full exhaust (headers all the way back), CAI, ecu, pulley upgrade, charcoals removed, intake scoops. Only things i havent done performance wise are cams which for our cars do nothing without the perfect tune, differential which im doing next week, and forced induction which im not going to do. And no, i doubt that it was the fastest in the country, but it was very quick. and yes, i have the smg 7speed.

Here is a vid of a Dinan 335 vs a stock E92 M3. I thought I got the link from this board but couldn't find it in a search.

Haha 13.4 1/4 for the M3. That's sad.

Have you done any dyno testing or drag racing to see what your mods netted? Or anyone else you can quote? I'm curious to know the gains.

Check out the trap speeds of 335s on dragtimes and you'll see what I'm talking about. To hang with a stock M6 pretty much takes a race-gas tune and other mods.

As far as my car goes, I dynoed the car almost a year ago, before I did the cai, changing my midpipes, added intake scoops, and changed my ecu. With headers, ss sxn2 x-pipe, and eisenmann race exhaust, I dynoed @ 460hp on the best pull. I thought that was a bit low, but considering that these cars stock are typically in the 420-435 or so range, that's not too bad. At that time though my car pulled much harder than the numbers; the same day there were a few m6 verts there with no mods that both put down 460-465. I'm guess this is because bmw tuned the verts higher to compensate for the weight/aerodynamics difference. I had run one of the verts a week or two before that and left him by multiple car lengths from 30-140; that vid may still be up ill have to look for it. As far as now, I've beaten a few 997tt's, a stock z06, an f430, and just two weeks ago ran dead even 4 times with a modded 515rwhp/575rwtq viper. So trust when I say, the car can move fairly well.

Damn! You didn't tell me about that race! I raced a stock Viper SRT10 not too long ago and the results were pretty similiar to when I raced you except I think you have a bit more top end than the Viper.

hah yeah, it was on an exotics run a week or two ago...the guy was very cool, hes got a few mods done to his car, it was very fast, his was an srt-10 as well...we ran about four times and neither one of us was ever able to pull more than about half a car length on the other from about 60-150. i was actually very surprised that i kept it as close as i did. id like to try and run you again; not that i will win, but i know that when we ran i got some crazy wheelspin going into and then through 2nd...i think i might keep my dsc on until the end of 2nd and then hit it off, so that i can get better grip through the first two gears...cause you really left me on my 1st-2nd shift, so i think if i can get rid of that second or so hitch, i might actually be able to keep up a bit better later on. maybe u can come on one of the exotics runs with me soon

Regardless, I'll be very curious to see if different 335i's ever keep up nearly as well.

I know the viper that i ran wasnt, think he is an 06 maybe? and like i said, the car is no slouch to say the least lol. but yeah, like i said ive no idea what the guy in the 335 had in it, i just know it was the fastest one ive seen.

so BMw still works on the car but dinan pays them
so how much is the package from Dinan to upgrade it to that level . A good friend of mine is actually buying a 335i sedan and we were discussing some future mods for him.

Dinan S2-335i
The Dinan S2-335 builds upon the S1 package by increasing output to 398 hp @ 5700 rpm along with 429 lb-ft torque @ 4300 rpm*. This further increase in power is generated through the addition of a highly efficient intercooler that is nearly twice the size of the stock unit... Price: $10682.46
