After getting my new CAI installed, I wanted to put it to the test. Cruising in Mexico the other night, came across a rowdy STI. Talked to him for a bit and found out that 15 grand was put into the motor and the car dyno'd in regular 50/50 mode at 416whp(claimed low to mid 11 sec car). We agreed on a 20mph pull but didn't work out and was more of a 40mph pull. 3 honks and I was pulling. Pulled him until about 110- and then he start coming quick. He was about to pass me when we shut it down at ~140. Thank god for mexican roads and just another dead STI. Have a vid if I can get it off my friend's cell. BTW, I had a passenger he didn't

 

how much rwhp are you putting down.
I had 350whp sti stay neck & neck with me till end of third when I was stock. I dont know but when he was of the boost it felt like he hit the brakes.

 

I'm curious too or was that race-gas tune? Or boost leak? I'm curious about your mods but that STi would be trapping high teens, right?

 

I don't know what he traps but he claimed mid 11's. He also claimed that there was 15 grand in the motor and upon opening of the bonnet I didn't doubt that fact... He didn't want to race from a dig (neither did I) because he didn't want to tear the car apart, apparently the new motor work and everything done only had like 4k on it. He said he could put it in 75rear/25fr mode but left it in 50/50 normal and we rolled from a 40. He honked and I waited for him to start pulling, as soon as he did I got on it and pulled ahead slightly. That thing really looked to be pulling like a freight train in my mirror as speeds went well over the 1xx mark. We cut off dead even when I was doing about 140km.
