You guys are clueless if you don't believe there are Evo's out there with 900bhp. There are a couple of them in my area. I mistakingly raced one in my Vette and didn't stand a chance...maybe only in a rolling mile race or something.

Here is the world quickest running on C16 race gas. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they (EVO) have to run on race gas anything over 600whp.

WORLD'S QUICKEST EVO 8
Best 1/4 Mile: 8.42 @ 168.7mph
Best Mph: 171 mph
1130 All Wheel Horsepower (C16 race gas)

VIDEO - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYLCRuoMe74

However, it's extremely rare and slim chances to run into 500whp+ Evo on the street. Well, at least in my personal experience.

If you goto www.evolutionm.net you will read about plenty making 500whp on pump gas.

And in the Buschur racing forums you will find 500whp pump gas DSM's and EVO's as well .

Error in my post. Just like my sig says 413whp on PUMP GAS!!! There r also more Evo's posted running 9's,10's and 11's than you'll see sti's. That's a fact!

So... what do you prefer more. The Sti trany or the Evo trany.

Both trannies will brake if they are not reinforced for hard launching with big power. Both cars are AWD but I prefer the Inline 4 engine vs the flat 4 engine. Tranny makes no difference to me.

Yeah, how many 900 bhp Evo's are used by people to drive to work, or
the wife to go shopping in.
They are so specialized that I expect the engine needs rebuilding after
every run. In fact I doubt if there are many Evo's on the road with more than 450 bhp.
I had 3, spent a fortune and only ended up with 400 totally unusable
bhp. That's why if your not interested in handling go for a big engine AMG
that needs no tuning!!

In the US there are many Evo's here on the street with over 450hp. I cannot speak for the UK but we have a huge EVO community here in the States. Please don't speak for us. Thanks! I think you need more schooling about 4g63 motors and tuning.

Thanks for agreeing with me that there are very few if any 900 hp Evo's on the road. Lol!

Funny thing is that I was refering to the statement you posted where you mentioned that your car had 400 unusable hp and not to forget where you also stated "In fact I doubt if there are many Evo's on the road with more than 450 bhp".
This indicates to me that your tunining abilities are definitely in question as well as how your car was built. My car is an everyday driver with 413 awhp ,totally usable on pump gas.

It was 10 years ago my Evo 6 was tuned,by Ralliart England's top tuner then.
My car had steel crank and rods with Omega pistons, had a Motec Ecu and
ran 2 bar boost. Most of the power was between 3500 and 4500 revs so if
you were in the wrong gear no power, it also used to bog down on pull away unless you gave it loads of revs. Clarkson recently tested the Evo 9FQ 400.
He said it was very fast but on the track, he recommended the FQ330 for every day use and it was only a smidgen slower but nicer to drive. Your the one that said there
are many Evo's out there with 450 bhp, but I was talking about Evo's with
900 bhp, as I said I doubt whether there is any on the road used every day
with that power. And lets face it Evo's with 450 bhp are going to blow away
Merc's and Beemers.

There aren't many. But if you street race and do it for money, you're bound to run into one.

They are rare, but they do exist and are on the streets.

BTW, last night I was coming back from Long Island on the Throggs Neck Bridge. I spotted a green Murcielago with smoked tail lights, black rims, dark tints, and a mean exhaust. I pulled up next to him and tried aggitating him to run but he just kept rolling. We both get to the toll booth and I make sure I get to the toll right next to his. We both go through it at the same time. Holding 1st gear, I roll right next to him and hear him holding the gear as well. He jumps and I chase after him. We went to about 100mph and he stopped. I followed him onto the cross bronx and waited in lane, trying to run him again on a clean run. In my rear view I see a bike. I move over to the right lane and let the bike get in the middle. The bike tries running the Lambo but he's not taking the bait. The bike pulls away and I follow him up to about 140mph where he slams his brakes. My Valentine V1 starts going crazy and I assume he spotted a cop. I gun it and get off on the next exit.

I didn't have any kills or get killed, but I had fun racing a Lamborghini and a bike. The M5 was suprisingly quick, though I'm sure on a clean run the Murci would have left me for dead. The bike would have slaughtered me. But a fun night for sure and it was great seeing a beautiful and modded exotic

It's not a Subaru dude.
No I believe you that you have 413awhp, my car is only tuned for 19psi and am at nearly 380. I don't believe you that you are only at 20psi. I'm sure that you'll also tell me your tuned on a conservative mustang dyno too.

But you should post your mods, I am interested. or PM them to me, if no one else is interested.

Two different motors so why would you compare your car to mines?

My car was not dynoe'd on a mustang dymo.

1. HKS cams 264 ,272
2.AEM stand alone
3. Ported and polished head with 3 angle valve job
4.web dual valvesprings and titamium retainers
5. garrett T3/T4 60 trim turbo
6. 6 bolt 95 piston motor bored .020 over
7. 3 inch exh turbo back
8. turbonetics exh manifold Tial 38mm external wastegate
9. Spearco FMIC with custom 2.5 inch intercooler pipe and tial BOV
10. 660 denso fuel inj
11. -8 fuel lines return line is -6 with Supra turbo 220 fuel pump
12. custom fuel rail
13. ACT 2600 lbs clutch

Now why would you compare your car to mines?

413awhp at 20 psi on pump gas

I am curious about the set up of your car. Not that I am comparing it to mine, although for a second the idea of a larger displacement engine running almost the same boost, with similar kinds of mods would some what equate did cross my mind.

What were you dyno'd on?

A big engine running the same boost as a smaller engine will be more
powerful.

Dynojet my friend! Dyno jet!
You wanna see some DSM's with 2.0,2.1,2.2,2.3L of displ that are making tons more hp than you and I ? There are some running tons of boost and some running as low as 20psi. PLEASE,Take a look, and some are on pump gas:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/dynosheets.php

If you goto www.Evolutionm.net you will see similar results with only 2.0Liters of displ as well as 2.1,2.2,2.3.

The questions you need to ask are:

What are you using for fuel management?
Who tuned your car?
What FMIC are you using?
What exhaust are you using?
What turbo are you using?

Larger displacement means nothing if everything you have on your car does not work like a nicely oiled machine!

I know tuning has almost more to do with the power of a car than displacement. I just found it hard to believe that a 2.0l car would be running 40whp more on a similarly equipped LARGER displacement engine.. But you said it, they are 2 different of animals to compare. Nice numbers.

I still don't understand why one would feel that because a car has bigger displ,it would automatically translate into the car having more hp than the car with lower displ

2001 M5 has a 5.0L motor with 400hp and has 4 valves per cyl
2001 E55 has a 5.5L motor with 355hp and has 3 valver per cyl
2006 Audi RS4 has a 4.2L motor with 420hp and has 5 valves per cylinder Smallest V8 motor here with the most hp go figure.
2008 M3 has a 4.0L motor with 414hp and has 4valves per cyl

70 hp difference between the MB and the smaller displ Audi and BMW.
Guess this kills the hp displacement logic you have there.
