What type of race was it? From a dig, low speed roll, highway roll? In either of these scenarios, it is most likely the driver not the car. You need to be familiar with SMGIII to extract maximum performance...unlike the mash-and-go nature of the SL550.

Disregard this story as it seems as if the M6 had a fatal drivetrain flaw: a female driver.
BTW a 4600lb, 380hp boat doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell against a 3900lb 507hp cruise missile.

+1.. The SL550 is alot faster than the SL500, but it is no match for the M6.

But...the weight difference between the two is more like 300 lbs, not 700. You'd be surprised how capable ABC can be. By no means is the SL550 a true and tried sports car, but it will hold its own on a windy stretch of road.

Thats a f_#cked up way of putting but your are right sl 550 is kind of quick but not as fast as an m6. But anything can happen on the streets these days which is why some drivers get pissed when they get murdered by less hp car which is funny none the less.

blahhhh....obviously this goes without saying, but either A. the driver really just had no idea how to drive the car, or B. the driver was not actually racing...even with the m6 in p400 mode(107hp less than a stock m6's max output) it still beats any of the 550 Mb's...i know this, because i have both an m6 and a 550 and have done it before...but, whatever i guess a win...is a win?

The SL550 doesn't weight that much. My SL65 with me in it doesn't weight that much. My SL55 with me only weighed 4400 and the 65 is considerably heavier.

we were at a light and our windows were down and i asked to race, she wanted to as well. so 1st gear it was even then 2nd gear and up she dipped on me. i lost maybe about 4 car lenghts worth? which is not as badly as i thought

I think you'll find the numbers MB lists are way off. In fact Mike's CL55 weighs more than my SL65. Though going by MB you would think quite the opposite. I weigh 195lbs.
