Just a little fun in Mexico... we were trying to do a couple runs from 45 to 120 but we had to cut it off due to traffic. I just got the car tuned recently and wanted to see how I held up against a E55 I was surprised with the results. I know he will walk me at higher speeds but in the second race I was actually very slowly pulling. Clearly with a tiny mod even a pulley he will take me but just cool to see how they stack up. I was very impressed with the tune I got the thing feels A LOT stronger like all the power was unleashed! Sorry for the BS at the beginning of the vid lol but the vid also gives you a little idea on how my car sounds the loud grumble is mine! Enjoy

cool I have been wanting to see how an slk55 does against an e55.. can you tell me a little more about the tune and how its done?

does your exhaust setup just have straight pipe after (after cats) all the way to the back? what is a sprinbooster? exhaust sounds good! it sounds goood

were u guys already in a low gear when the race started? if so what gear?

also what seems to be common in the 55 komp is heat soak...

Awesome video! SLK55 is a very light car and it can definitely surprise a lot of more powerful cars. I did very well against a stock 996TT when my SLK55 was also stock. I'm sure you're thinking about a supercharger now, right ?? Almost nothing can keep up with a supercharged SLK55...

I got a custom tune from Speed Innovations I have heard rumors that the owner may have worked at Power Chip and thats where he got all his experience from. Yes the exhaust is just straight pipes from the car back with tips on it! The sprintbooster is a little mod that increases the throttle response so there is no log when you mash on the gas! I cant remember what gear I was in when I started but we both were in lower gears yes!

Yea I raced my buddy with a tuned 996 turbo and I did pretty well! I was leaning towards the TT kit that Vadim has been working on but if your parting your car out then I might have to go with a SC !

I just talked to him yesterday and I think thats what I will do! Once he has finished the 1000hp SL project I think thats when I will start to work on mine! I want some crazy number but I dont want the thing to be a death trap lol I want to still hold the reliability factor! Once the project really gets on its way I will start a thread and post numbers up!

I love the SLK55. Any idea what kind of gains you picked up from those upgrades?

No but when I get back in Dec I will be making my way to the strip for a couple runs I guess we will see what kind of numbers I'm putting up!
