Loss to 997 turbo

Wife in the car plus two pizzas. Lined up at the light, he got about 1 car on me before I had to bail out due to the upcoming light and he continued onto the onramp to 400S. Guess we got up to 60. I definitely made up ground when he shifted into 2nd, must have been a manual transmission.

I said to my wife, pretty good for a family car, and she said, "this isn't a family car, it's an a-hole car". She has a short memory though

Ditch the pizzas next time, and you'll take him.

I got beat by half a car length a year ago when I had my 04 Gallardo. Similar scenario, from a stoplight to about 60. AND he was pulling. Those 997tt's are ruthless. Period. I wouldn't buy one due to bland styling IMO, but I gotta respect them.

You would need to do a ton of modding to pull on a stock 997TT.

Turbo driver fails at life, you should not even be close, but as they say anything happens on the streets.

Stock they run low 12s/high 11s, and even mid 12s with an incompetent driver. A stock 05 E55 can run as fast as 11.7 @118, so I fail to see how what happened is so hard to believe.

Ok at a track yes the E55 can run those numbers, on the streets vs an AWD car and a proper launch the turbo should be saying good bye to the 55. If we are going perfect driver situation the turbo wins every time. 3.8 to sixty with a manual, 3.6 with an Automatic. I said the guy obviously couldn't drive which is why the 55 was close.

997TT Vs E55

I was at the track recently when my new acquantance Nate posted the record book run for a non-NOS pass in his E55 at 11.05 ET. His cars is well modded and I think he was on drag radials.

The same evening my friend who is about 84 years old ran a 10.99 in his twin turbo 911 Porsche. His car is also well modded but againn he is also a senior citizen and nate is a accomplished professional ARCA driver. What is it they say?, "age, experience and treachery triumphs over youth and enthusiasim every time" Both drove their cars to and from the track.

It you see a red 997TT in KY with an old man at the wheel beware unless you are driving a rocket, lol.

I've had a couple of pretty good runs with a 997TT in my K2. I think both times the driver of the Porsche was a lil surprised he didn't dispose of me like he thought he should... I love the shock factor when this happens!
