2002 CLK55 vs. BMW 5 series (528 I think)
I'm driving home on the highway into the city last night around 9 PM. I'm having some fun on my own - accelerating from 75 to 100 a few times. At one point I'm doing about 80 and this BMW 5 series flies by me. I think it was a 528 - he's joking right?
Anyway, I hit it and blow by him at about 100 I'd say - from the right lane - he is in the far left. I get way up ahead and I know he is trying to catch up. I need to merge left and there's some room between two trucks (middle lane). I get between the trucks and check the left mirror and see him coming in the left lane - prob 6 or 7 lengths back and hauling. I wonder for a sec if I'll cut him off really bad but we have 4 lanes to play with now so I say screw it. I punch it and merge left....see him coming. He was def going much faster than me when I spotted him. He gets to about a half a car length behind but never catches me....as I am accelerating. It's over! I'm pulling away hard and he's back several lengths again. Then I look down and I'm doing 115 mph around a wide highway turn....WHOA!!
So now I exit and right off the ramp is a red light and I'm on the left. I look back and see him coming up - dude followed me. He pulls right beside me and it's impossible to resist. I turn of the traction control and the light turns green. I punch it and peel out big time...*** kicks out a bit. He gets the jump of course but once I get traction he's history. We only raced up to about 50 mph but he was destroyed again. I know it wasn't the wisest thing to do but the adrenalin got the best of me. I bought my 208 CLK55 in July and this was my first good kill. Granted not that serious competition but loved the rush!!
