I think he's saying that all-season tires do not react as severely to cold temperatures as high-performance tires? It's not just rubber, its many compounds and formulations.
This I know already. However if you know Jon you'll understand. Don't assume what he means. Anyway, nothing about a tire gets sticky or softer when it's cold. Traction in the snow or the road when cold will have alot to do with tire compound and more so with tread pattern which is what I was explaining to him.

wouldnt it be more fair for e55 to compete against the m5?? i mean 740 is like what..a e500 or something.

Yes, it would be more fair, but it is a kill nonetheless.

You think an M5 driver is not going to race someone in an E500 that tries to beat him?

Still trying to figure out if the "newer" 740i had a manual transmission or the guy simply gave up?

no manual transmission unless retrofit
