Not an MB story, but interesting nonetheless...

I was a passenger in my wife's 05 LR3 SE (V8) this past Sunday and we're coming home for a day of hiking the dogs, so both of them were in the cargo area. We pulled up to a stop light which was red, and in the curb lane was a newer model VW Jetta. My wife commented how the VW was tailgating her for the past few blocks. I thought nothing of it at the time because my wife normally gives me heck when I race (more so when I had my 07 ML500 because I could sometimes keep up with other sportier cars. Not so much now since I have my AMG since I easily win and there is no danger). Anyhow, the light turns green and she jumps on the gas, which surprised me. I think it surprised the Jetta too because he jumped on the gas as well and we were actually neck and neck as the curb lane began to merge into our lane. Much to my surprise, my wife didn't back down and laid on the horn as the VW tried to cut in front of her. Finally the Jetta gave up and fell in behind her, tailgating again.

The funny (sort-of) part is that the one lane then splits off into a seperate right hand turn lane, sort of like an offramp, but not a ramp. Anyhow, the Jetta takes the right turn, then deliberately swerves into the side of our truck like he's going to hit us, then quickly swerves back right to take the exit. DICK.

I can only imagine if he did hit us and what we would tell the insurance company. We were hit by a guy who deliberately swerved into our lane to hit us.

Anyways, I guess this could be classified as one of the slowest races in MBWORLD history

Which would work out well unless of course they happen to find out about the previous race .

" Umm yeah , about the race . Look we won , he got mad and hit us - - clearly he is at fault , I don't see the problem here . "
