Killed "SL600 AMG" Poser with 8-exhaust Pipes!
Driving down the Henry Hudson parkway I spot a silver SL with a spoiler in front of me. I notice the AMG badging but also the dual exhaust tips, meaning it's not an AMG. I get a little closer and see the SL600 badging and V12 sidebadging...however, I almost threw up in my mouth when I spotted a set of 3 exhaust pipes hanging out on the side! Yup, that's right, this guy had 3 pipes sticking out each side of his car, as well as the stock exhaust in the back.
We get to the tollbooth where I get myself stuck in traffic just so I can line up with him. After the toll, we both roll alongside. He looked over and must have seen me laughing. Well, he took off and switched into the leftlane. I tapped the paddle and brought her down into 3rd gear and by the time I hit 4th he had already become a fading object in my rearview. I slowed down again to let him catch up and he tried again. The car was SLOW. Without a doubt, it was a 500.
He took the GW Bridge exit as I continued down the highway laughing my *** off.
I tried to take some pics during the race. It is very hard to see his extra exhaust pipes, but if you look closely behind his front wheel, under the side gill, you'll see the little cannons. (BTW, I was able to see that they were just bolted on. No exhaust work done what-so-ever, strictly cosmetic pipes)

One word to describe that fool.... PATHETIC!!!
Bobby thank you for killing the poser ....maybe if enough people constantly show him what a poser he is...he might take off the garbage and be proud of the car he owns.... not the fantasy he wants to portray.

Wow hilarious. I laugh at all these people too. Especially the new C Class people are already getting carried away. From C350 AMG's to C350 4Matics...I just don't get it. This guys a whole new league though. He must think hes rollin' in a McLaren with those side pipes haha.

Do these drivers who badge up a level not realize the irony that people who don't know much about cars won't notice a difference while the one's who know a thing or two will laugh?
An SL500 is a great car. Debadge it entirely, adorn it with some classy wheels and other tidbits, then sit back and enjoy the compliments.

Run strong! Can't be losing to any M6's!
Are you still stock? Or have you updated the ECU?
