00 e55 VS 05 Chrysler 300c 5.7 hemi
Well to be honest, I did not expect much from the Chrysler.
This Guy was following me after I took off kinda fast, I guess he wanted to play too.
At around 40mph I stepped on the gas just a bit to show him "it was on"
he took the bait by immediately flooring it, I was surprised by the quick response, i floored it too but my transmission took a sec to downshift and before i knew it the guy was a car ahead although he did not pull away more before we had to slow down. So I open the window I tell him "fast car" and I say we should go again, he agrees. This time from 25mph on count of three, each time I pull on him by about a car and half by 70 or so. It seemed that from 50 to 60 i was not pulling too much from him. We raced two more times same outcome, I won.
I was really surprised that a regular 5.7 300c could come close and it was kinda close I could tell that car had some power.
Just looked up the specs and I guess 300c's are rated almost identical to w210 e55 at 340hp and 390 lb torque. Their 0-60 is 6 sec but at speeds they are not that far from the w210 e55s. I wonder how the srt8 would do...

SRT8 is another 75 HP, so it would have done better for sure. Also, most SRT8s are not stock as they are owned by performance enthusiasts. They at the very least will have a cold air intake and the Diablo Predator ECU tune which gives them another 30 or so HP. These mods are very cheap.

Apples to oranges. Accounting for differences in gearing/powerband the story is spot-on. All the guy needs is a CAI and canned 91oct tune (essentially better shifting) to run even or beat him.
