03 SL55 AMG vs 08 BMW M6 vs ?

Before people start going off and buying a bridge in Brooklyn, consider the following:
If you were in a modified M6 and were chasing down an SL55 light to light to engage in a race (or so the story goes), would leave it in 400hp mode while you are revving at him? That doesn't make much sense.
As far as the 20" wheels...yes they can weigh more than the stock 18" wheels. But that is not going to affect your hp in a significant way (under 25hp). But any lost hp is going to be an argument against this particular story...as an underpowered SL55 isn't going to walk an M6.
Also, the 20" wheels/tires are going to provide a larger rolling diameter. The stock 2003 SL55 rear tires were 285/35ZR18s. If he was running a 305/30ZR20 tire (pretty popular for SL55s with 20s), the speedometer would be slow by 5.217%:

That means that at his indicated 140mph....he was actually only going 133mph.
None of his story makes sense. We can sit here all day and try to theorize how it could be true...but sadly in most instances on the internet if a story doesn't make sense based on historic or factual comparisons...it likely was fabricated by someone's short-sighted imagination...

Buying C55, E55, C32, CLK55.
You guys take this **** way too serious.
I just came to tell my story that's about it.
If you were there you'd know whats up, but all I can do is speak on my behalf and you guys can take it how you want to, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I did admit that he might of not been a "experienced M6 driver", I've ridden in an M6 and felt the power of the naturally aspirated 500HP, he took me towards the end, and in other cases I HAVE been burned by M6's in short street light runs.
In the end, believe what you want, I didn't post this up for people to judge me, but rather read a story, take it how you want to, it's pointless to argue.

Calling .
And, before you give me any **** about what I do or don't know. I own a M5 with SMG. I have ran several AMG's, including the SL63, SL55 and S63 and have experiences with them across the board (including having lost).

No way that the M6 would walk away from you on street light to street light runs. The torque on the AMG cars will give you an advantage off the line. The NA V10 will run all over you above 100 though. So, I am with the others.

2005 C55 AMG
Kill stories on forums are always fun. Mostly because their .
I've driven an SL55 and unless you're driving like a complete ***-hat or you have bald tires, you shouldn't be fishtailing at 120 mph. You're in what, 4th gear, and fishtailing? Nice Driving. <---that's sarcasm.
Either way, the SL55 is a sweet car.
