I'm glad no one got hurt. The speed limit in a city or residential area are there for reason-try reading and following one next time.
While I wasnt as blunt as a prev poster-there are a few of us on here that feel street racing is wrecktarded.
Nice name change.
Nice.....

NICE!

I thought the OP deleted the thread, then I noticed it's new name.

Bad story. Reckless driving. Suspect kill. Awesome thread name.

That is all.

But, this at least doesn't endanger innocent bystanders. Sorry, I really hate street racers and the danger they pose. Hope you can see my point.

Yes, in the right situation I believe its fine to race on the streets. There's always a wrong time and a right time for everything. As long as your not doing it in a school zone, a neighborhood, or in a semi-congested commute situation...go for it. Have some fun. You only live once so make the most of it. Well, yes I'm sure if I had a kid I'd have a slightly different point of view but I don't at the moment. It's all really to each his own... you are against street racing and I'm for it as long as your being reasonable with your actions.

Exactly. How about straight-way interstate freeways where it's just you, your friends, and over a hundred miles of empty road? Would you really drive the speed limit of 65-70 Dragoncoach?

Did you even read my post? I said open freeways are ok as long as you don't endanger anyone. To answer your question, yes, I make high speed runs. However, it's usually on I-5 at night with little or no traffic. My point is racing on streets is not worth the chance you take either hitting someone or something. The OP races in 35mph zones. I think most people who street race consider the danger they pose to others. Tragically, if they kill somone they then become advocates against street racing. If you don't agree or think I'm wrong, start a poll and see how many people support racing in an urban area at 5:30 in the morning. There's a reason why the moderators changed the title of this thread.

C350 vs Stang GT

I read over the original post. Nowhere did I see the guy say that the Mustang was a late model 2008/09 GT. There have been a ton of GT's made over the years and they are not all that fast. My buddy has a 2000 GT convertible and it has about 275hp and could barely trap a 14.5 ET. The hardtop model of the same is lighter and consequently a little bit quicker and even the V6 model has abs. I see V6's with duals but it is still really hard to mistake the real GT's exhaust note as they are the king noise makers of the automotive world. How ford makes the Mustang sound so good and Chevy makes the Corvette sound so flacid is one of lifes great automotive mysteries, lol.

My point is that maybe the guy did pass the stang in a curve at 100mph in a 35mph city zone while endangering himself and others. I'm not opposed to a friendly race off and on, but your not gonna catch me doing triple digits inside the city limits. Gee

I imagine that since you're a confirmed "laws are made to be broken" kinda guy, your inclination is to steal the car from the seller and avoid paying that $27K.
