They are same body and only have 150lbs diff with clk 550 having more Hp and TQ.
Last time I checked, the CLS55 has far more torque and hp than the CLK550, but that doesn't stop you from spewing idiotic nonsense.

You are just totally clueless, dude. You think 150 pounds doesn't matter, but 330 does? Great, then 37 pounds becomes insignificant...read on:

MBUSA gives weights as:
CLK350 - 3585
CLK550 - 3720
E550 - 3885
E55 - 4087
CLS55 - 4050

So, given that the CLS55 is 37 pounds lighter than the E55, then surely, you think you could also give an E55 "a good race". Right?

And the test numbers bear this out:
Car & Driver tests '03 E55 AMG:
http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...fc6ae1464d.pdf
0-60: 4.3
0-100: 9.9
0-150: 24.5
rolling-start 5-60: 4.7
1/4 mile: 12.5 @ 116

Car & Driver tests '06 CLS55 AMG:
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take_road_test
0-60: 4.2
0-100: 9.7
0-150: 23.7
rolling-start 5-60: 4.6
1/4 mile: 12.5 @ 116

Yup, pretty even. So given that we've already got volunteers in your area who were ready to run your friend, perhaps you'd like to run an E55?

Then, we could settle this. Since it's the weight that concerns you, you should know that with 37 pounds of difference and same rated hp, driveline, gearing, etc., then if you can give a CLS55 "a good race", then by all means you can certainly give the same to an E55...right?

So would you like to run one then, and get it all on video, so that we can shut you up once and for all?

First, let's see how you define "a good race". How badly do you think you'll be beaten by?

Also, given that there's only an insignificant 150 pounds of difference between you and the E550, then with the same engine, gearing, etc. as the E550, we might be able to glean where your car might lie on the performance spectrum by looking at the E550, given that none of the US mags bothered to test the CLK550.

So, lets:
Motor Trend:
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html
Acceleration to mph
0-60 4.8
0-100 12
Passing, 45-65 mph 2.3
Quarter mile 13.4 sec @ 105.3 mph

http://www.insideline.com/mercedes-b...benz-e550.html
0 - 60 (sec.) 5.2
1/4 mile (sec. @ mph) 13.5@104.4

http://www.insideline.com/bmw/5-seri...f-premium.html
0 - 30 (sec.) 2.2 (2.3 traction control on)
0 - 45 (sec.) 3.6 (3.7 traction control on)
0 - 60 (sec.) 5.3 (5.4 traction control on)
0 - 75 (sec.) 7.7 (7.7 traction control on)
1/4 mile (sec. @ mph) 13.6 @ 103.5 (13.6 @ 103.7 traction control on)

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...nz_e550_page_3
0-60 4.8
0-100 11.8
0-130 20.8
5-60: 5.2
Quarter mile: 13.4 sec @ 106 mph

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=4477
0–60 mph 4.9 sec
0–100 mph 11.5 sec
0–1320 ft (1/4 mile) 13.3 sec @ 108.1 mph

So the average time/trap is around the 13.5/106 range...you weigh in at 165 pounds less than this, and you're telling us that you're going to give a car that runs a full second faster, and traps about 9-10 mph faster, "a good race"?

This should be good....say the word, and I'm certain that we can find some stock E55s and possibly CLS55s in your neck of the woods to give you "a good race".

That's the beauty of dyno tuning. All done on the same day with data logging, multiple pulls over a 4 hour period:

388/402 canned tune
398/422 tuned on 91 octane
413/432 tuned on 96+ octane.

Trap speed increase under similar conditions 2mph from 109 to 111mph. Stock the car is capable of 108-110mph, bolt-on and tuned 113-114mph.

Agreed, dynos are no substitute for runs and are far from reliable.

Are you talking about a stock CLK550 trapping 110mph? Has that ever been done as I have a hard time believing it.

Do you have any pics of your m6? I'd love to see a few more.

A few more? Have you seen any pics of this mystery M6?

It's wild, picture this: I drive a CLK550, and whenever I beat a Celica I'm in here posting kill stories, with video, of my beating that car. And I don't have a vid or pic of my CLK550 at the strip, don't have the time slip, don't know my trap speed, 60' time, or when or where I did the run.

But I don't post a thread about running a 12.8 second 1/4 mile in a CLK550. And I never post a single M6 race or kill story.

If I look into 10mm spacers, I post a thread about it and ask for opinions.

But I don't post a thread about looking into, or purchasing, slicks. Or an M6.

Lastly, I buy an M6.

But I don't update my sig, or tell anyone, or post a race story, or pics of the car, and of course, I don't sell the CLK50.

Would you buy a used car from me?

Sure you will. We'll all be waiting for The End of Days, shovelling snow in a fozen Hell, as this will be when that happens imo.

Why not just run out there and snap a pic right now with something to show us it's actually you in the pic, say a piece of paper mentioning this or one of the other threads, something like that?

Also, why didn't you answer any of my questions about your magic, never-mentioned-before 12.8 run, such as (also threw a few in about the never-mentioned-before M6):

1) what was the trap?

2) what was the 60' time?

3) at what track was it done, and when?

4) how did you manage to lose the slip?

5) you claimed that there was a reason you'd never written about this run here before. what is that reason?

6) why have you never written about your M6 before now?

7) why no M6 race/kill stories? no sig updates?

8) why would you keep a CLK550 if you've got an M6?

Well, put it this way: have you ever had a dream that seemed so real at the time, but after you wake up the memory fades after a few hours? Well, there's your answer: he's dreaming.

If you get one of these questions answered by Easter I would be surprised.
