C300 vs. Nissan Sentra SE-R Vspec
Funny enough, I have another story to tell you all.
So I was in the possession of an '08 C300 for a few days, and my buddy in his Sentra SE-R and I decided to have a friendly discussion about our vehicles' capabilities...
Here are the results.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Enjoy.

Fun video.
I actually just traded my '02 for my now current c230K.
I am kinda surprised by the fact that she was able to keep the wheels from spinning.
The SER Spec V is one hell of a torque monster. I was either always starting in 2nd or constantly feathering the clutch.
I finally had to put on an engine dampener to help with the wheel hop on the damn thing.
I'll admit mine had most of the bolt on's and I do still miss it.
It's a fun car to drive if you don't mind torque steer and a harsh ride. (Double that with Tein S-Techs)

Lol, torque monster? Don't mean to sound like an *** but i can't really see any n/a 4cyl as torque monsters...My old eclipse GST had 210ft/pounds stock, which is much more than the Spec V, and then mine was modded to 18psi on the factory turbo with supporting mods...it was torquey, even then not a torque monster lol.

I don't know what to tell you . I know it only has 175 ft/pounds stock but if you ever drove one you may be surprised. The damn thing would hop on the front wheels so bad it was nuts. It also seemed to want to jerk hard to what ever way the steering wheel was pointed. Torque steer was terrible.
Granted it's not the fasted car by any means but it may have been the fact that the 2.5 has one hell of a long stroke (so long that red line was at 6400 due to piston speed) or from a low 1st gear. Not sure of the gearing on the 6spd but 1st was pretty much worthless.
I'm sure a lot has to do with design. The car may not have be as refined as the GST and may give a feeling of more torque then there was. However I still miss it as it was fun to drive.
From one review -
A standard limited-slip differential ensures good
traction. Mash the throttle, and there is some torque steer (because
there is plenty of torque), but consider that part of the Spec V's
pocket muscle car character. It's never boring.

Oh yeah, that I don't disagree upon. My friend in honolulu has a SE-R specV and he took me around the twisties there when I was stopping by for a few days on my way back from a deployment to the philippines. Plenty of zip to haul it from the bends and tons of grip as well.
I just wish I knew someone with the v6 swap into the sentra; I bet that would be a hoot to drive.
