Disappointment....

Few weeks ago a friend with a stock 05 E55 ran into this Mustang with big fogs in the front... we got into it 2 times from a rolling 50 and both times he got us with 3-4 cars...second time it seems like we were pulling on him when all of a sudden around 120 it felt like some one just applied brakes..
We stopped at this traffic light in Mexico and that's when i noticed it said Eleanor on the front fender...The guy mentioned about a bigger blower
Our car just didn't feel right even when shifting it just took too long and then stopping at 120

Can some one please tell us about the specs on this eleanor...

first off depending on where you live I highly doubt that was THE eleanor.. many replicas out there. but with that said the replicas are also suited down with the same engine if not better... did it look to be from the 60's? or a new one?

as for the 120 halt, tell your friend theres no reason to be scared of going faster YOUR IN MEXICO!!

Have your friend give me a call. We can put the smile back!

In all seriousness, it sounds like cooling problems.

It was probably a newer modified Shelby GT500 with some tacky cosmetics as a "tribute" to the Eleanor car from 'Gone in 60 Seconds'. I say this because the guy supposedly mentioned "a bigger blower". To me that insinuates that the car had a blower and he upgraded it (fairly common among the GT500 speed freaks). There are 3 common blower swaps available: Eaton TVS 2300, Whipple or Kenne Bell. Each can easily put out 600-700+rwhp when properly tuned. A stock E55 isn't going to hang with one of those from a roll.

I wonder with the big fogs it was a standard GT with a very nice blower upgrade vs. a GT500. And yes, possible cooling problem too.
