My first kill... =)
Ok so this is my first one.. and it will be awhile until I catch up to pocholin (probably never will ;-)... but here goes...
One of my co-workers has a 88? 5.0 liter Mustang. He's done ALL SORTS of stuff to it.. but recently has taken some things off to improve drivability. Anyways, today at work we decide to light it up on the way home. This is my first one... he's taken his stang to the track and gotten I BELIEVE 12's and 13's with it.. with his mods.. but he says stock probably 13-14 for a 1/4 mile.
Anyways, our first "try" was at a green light.. with noone behind us.. and we were waiting for the red.. so we could launch equally. Well, someone came up behind us so we had to move... he got the early jump.. and got out to a 1/2 car lead.. and didn't budge after that... we then came up to the next light =)
We talked for a minute. He complimented me, saying he couldn't pull on me... he got a better launch (early?) but once I got going.. he didn't gain any. We prepared for the next light...
Green, and off we go.. it's pretty much even all the way.. he's rolling his gears and I have the ESP on and just hit KICKDOWN right from GREEN. At about 80mph I began pulling ahead some.. by 90 I was making good progress... and by 110 I was about 1 car length ahead.
Go ME!
My first kill. =) He had a 5 speed.. and I have the auto.

Nice kill. But watch out for those Mustangs and camaros, especially the camaros if you spend less than 5K on those cars they do 12 sec easy. Most of them sound fast but aren’t but there are some that are real fast. Oh if it has an SS in the back you might not want to race it but I would really like to know if a E500 can take the SS.

Looks like you had fun, NitroShredder. Also great that you guys paid attention to traffic.
When are you going to put a blower on your engine? Then you'll have all sorts of fun with your friend's car.

Actually I'll be installing a NOS kit this weekend.. and have a software program on my laptop that I can link into the data port (under the dash) into Command. I can then access the OBD system on the fly. (Just kidding ;-)
No, I am thinking of doing some mods to the car.. but nothing "outrageous." MAYBE some new exhausts.. and a new air intake system. SC's are too pricey for me at this point.
Traffic is a #1 concern. I have one benz.. and one LIFE. Sorry. I don't get another quarter to put into the machine for another run if I mess up.. so gotta be careful.
Actually, my friend is a "track maniac" and knows ALL about the American muscle cars. Stangs, Camaro's, etc. He has 2 mustangs and has one done up to run 11's in the ¼ mile.
He essentially told me.. that I should be able to handle just about any "stock" GT without too much problem.. Camaro's Z28's and SS's will likely shred me up (even stock since they are "quicker" than GT's). Trans-Ams (WS6's) also should pose a good fight (slower than Camaro's).

Nice kill but watch out I know of an 86 mustang with a 4cyl that could run you easily its an SVO well watch out for WS-6 trans ams to they will take you with ease and laugh afterwards
P.S the ws-6 isn't slower than the camaro it's actually faster......and why don't you all race cobras instead of gt's gt's are very slow for an 8cyl.
