It's such a great story I just have to tell ya

It's was on saturday and I was driving to the office to clean the car as usual. When I was driving on the highway I saw this black M3 behind me. He drove beside me slowed down and looked at me with a smile on his face (btw he had a nice chick ). Then he pulled away and I followed him. We had about 120 mph and I overtook him. I was about one car langht in front of him when I slowed down to give him a second chance but he also lost the second time. At this time I had a big smile on my face because I couldn't believe it. He didn't looked at me again and went off the highway at the next exit.

I still can't believe it an I'm glad it wasn't a dream

If so, I think you may have run up against 1) a poseur in a 330 done up as an M3 (I've seen them, don't laugh), 2) an M3 in the break-in period, or 3) a rather poor driver.

Not to take anything away from the C43 (HUGE AMG fan here), but at about 3,500 pounds with 302 horsepower, its engine is burdened with 11.6 pounds per horsepower, while the M3 at 3,450 & 333 horsepower (used American spec for both of these) has a 11% advantage at 10.36 pounds per horsepower.

To take that, you'd have to make up that 10%, in which case your advantage in torque would allow you to pull him at higher speeds....which is why I'm asking if you're stock!

I'm alos very surprised!!! Its was not a high speed race (from 0-70mph) but I tried an E46 last year with my C43 and I lost the fight.

 

haha man... even if it was his passenger that slowed him down, u must have made him look REAL bad in front of his girl

I didn't wrote my story to say that I have the fastest car!!!!!!

But there are several persons who can't drive well, so if you give them a SLR, or what ever for you is the fastest car, and this person is a bad driver he can't smoke you even when you just have a Mini Cooper S!

I don't have a Monster like other guys here, I am just proud of myself that I am a good driver in a not so bad car!

do you have mod on your car? I didn't a stock C43 would be able to catch up with the E46 M3.

I heard a rumor that the power to weight ratio was better on the C43 over the C32, is that true?

 

I made a test against my friends C32. From 0-??????, I always was behind him with the same distance, he wasn't faster than I we where more or less equal. I know it's hard to understand becuase the C32 has aprox 356 HP and the C43 306 HP but It's the god damn V8.

Out of all the cars I've driven / owned, the MB 8's are unexpectedly responsive. I just love that no matter what speed you are already traveling, a little flutter of the pedal, and she's off!

 

That's true and I love the V8 sound. Some stupid guy asked me today if I am Michael Schumacher ( I was tooo fast at a parking and so the parking cheef got angry) I dindn't get tickets for the icehockey play off final here in switzerland, so I was very angry too and was too fast. IMO just the engine was loud and I wasn't so fast

 

Nice kill story. I love both my C43s, especially with larger pullies and aftermarket ECUs (and another secret mod). I've also pulled up against E46 M3s, but most didn't want to dance. At one time when an E46 took on my call on Highway 5, a highway patrol was entering the freeway. So, it was a no go. I'm pretty sure my OB C43 could hang with the E46 M3s

 

It took you 120mph to take him.He probably shut it down and laughed at you. I guest you don't need skill driving at that speed.

As Teck stated above, theres obviously lots of people who can't drive stick..

And btw, it does take skill to drive at that speed..

 

That's why they both even out until 120. If m3 can shift, he would of kick your ***.
At 120, there is no shifting anymore. Unless you have 7th gear to go.
C43 cannot beat M3. Nice kill if you think you did.
