Talking Damn Jaguar

Coming home from Boston, this Jag cuts into my lane while making a left turn. See, there are two left turn lanes, i'm in the right and he's in the left and your suppose to turn into your respective lane on the left. After the left turn, it's a right turn onto the pike. He cuts into my lane, my bumper is at his passanger door less than a foot apart! I honk my horn and he just gives me the finger. I'm like, WTF u old *******, u cut into MY lane. So it's a one laner going into the paytolls.

There's two electronic pass ones, one of the right and one of the left. There's no cars on the left side so I take that one and he takes the right. I floor it after the paytoll and he follows.

He tails me like crazy and then he tries to pass me. I said "that's a no no" before he could make his move, I let the 500 open up and he couldn't pass me. He tried again on the right side but it's a no go.

He had to turn off the pike and gave me the finger as he turned off

I don't know what kind of jag it was...it said XJ something on a little badge on the back that I saw as we were going onto the pike.

The S got her exercise tonight

Nobody is wrong anymore

I've made driving mistakes and I usual bow my head and give a "I'm sorry" wave. I rarely see this from other drivers who cut me off or almost hit me etc..

For instance, if you honk because somebody pulls in front of your and you have to slam on your brakes you almost always get the finger. How hard is it for the driver to realize they might have made a poor judgement and admit it (by not acting like a maniac to the other driver)? At least compose yourself enough not to flick somebody off.

I wonder if it was always like this or if this is just a sign of the times?

In eastern Massachusetts, you'd be hard pressed not to see this type of thing 7-8 times a day while driving for a short jaunt. Certain parts are becoming like the LA freeway.

Anyway, he probably had an XJ8. An XJ6 wouldn't stand a chance. Good job, but be careful.

An XJR losing to an S500? Sounds like an awfully tall order.

I'm assuming the S he is referring to is the S500 he has listed in his sig.

What are the figures for torque, anyway? Does the S have more torque than the XKR at that speed?

HP is irrelevant. Torque is everything.

Maybe he wasn't pushing it as hard as it could have gone?

If it was the supercharged version, I'm guessing it should have walked away from me...but I don't know the specs of the Jag.

S500 Specs (2001):

302 HP
339 FT-LB TQ

weight: 5248 lbs.

Jag XJR Specs (2001):

370 HP
387 FT-LB TQ

weight: 4050 lbs.

Newer XJR's push 390hp. I wouldn't mess with one in the S500 in a straight race. Still a Jag though so if you want one, wait a few years until they sell for 15 grand.

If you don't have a paintball gun filled with marbles handy you can always just pelt their vehicle with the loose change from your change holder. That usually gets the point across and provides consequences for their naughty behavior.

Those curb weights you mentioned for your S500 are off by 1000lb's??S class weigh 4100lb-4200lb
Even the new S600 04' only weigh 4610lb

If you were right that Jag would've smoked you...our S500's are heavy but not that heavy....

My EX-accountant did this once when I was riding as a passenger in his car (a Mazda Millennia).

He was coming over into someone else's lane and they honked at him. The "beep" scared him and he got pissed! He flipped off the other driver then tailgated him I was like WTF! He just totally went into defensive/denial mode and cussed the other driver.

BTW, this guy is on medication....

LOL I HATE THOSE KIND OF PEOPLE .....
I MEAN .... PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID IT JUST PISSES ME OFFFFFFFFFFF

Sometimes i hate driving ... because there's a LOT of diff kinds of stupid people in this world.

The other day i was on a middle lane going around 25 mph... this guy in his Nissan Pathfinder full of passengers on the right lane .... cuts RIGHT in front of me out of NOWHERE with my front bumper by his DRIVER's door. My horn is LOUD .. now i mean LOUD. AND THIS GUY IS DEAF OR SOMETHING. I couldn't cut to left because there was a car, so i had to brake. I got so pissed, i tailgate him until i had a chance to cut to the right lane. I cut him REALLY close and i hit the brakes. He honked at me for probably 10 seconds. Then after, i stepped on it and couple of blocks down later i slow down to make a right .... the PASSENGER gave me this stare and i gave him my finger out the window as the Pathefinder pass by.
I was driving my dad's 560SEL btw

Um....Guys?

We need to lay off the caffeine here. No matter how foolish the driver is, the most proper way of handling the situation is to keep your cool. By being like this, you increase your lifespan, and avoid nasty confrontations.

Don't provoke people just because they did it to you. Take down their license plate number and report them instead.

Sometimes I wish I could beat the #$%^&*()*$#$ out of them, too. But you never know who could be excercising the 2nd amendment, nowadays.

I guess you have to "....Obey your thirst". Hey, I'm the same way. Sometimes I get so pissed that I sware I could kill somebody(my predecessors in the old world had a history of that ).

Did you know that soda can rob essential nutrients from your spine making you weaker over time? Water doesn't do this. Ah, the things I learn from human physiology class.

You know its not how fast you drive, its how you drive fast. When you think of an open road race, all these euro cars excell. So its a measure of risk versus stupidity and it is the times I think.

Hehe..... I personally would try to be cool after my bad experience about a year ago..... was driving my stock maxima.... and got pissed after a modded mustang cut me and pressed the brake after I honked him.....

Shortly after, we raced like a maniac (not a straight race..... we cut and brake as if we really wanted to kill each other). Till about 2 miles later, he cut me, slipped and rolled over.... I was surprised and steered over.... luckily my car just turned around like an ice skating and did not hit other cars.... I was shaken to death...... didn't even move until some people came to my car and checked me out..... luckily, no one reported me to the police that I sped and drove recklessly...... so, no ticket for this incident... but I guess I felt sorry for the mustang's driver.... totaled his car, got into hospital and probably got some tickets too....
