300CE vs. 525i
Mind you, I have 191,000 miles on the 3.0 liter W124 coupe. Some guy at the tollbooth keeps eyeing my sleek two-door as we proceed into the gate where the machine gulps quarters.
His car is a mid-90s 525i...green in color. I know I've got 30-35 horses on him, but being a "slushbox" and all....
He's out first. Damn! His is a manual....I step down hard and the CE reponds.....kickdown to first and the straight six spins to 7,000 rpm. Bang, second gear and I reel him in....he lets off and I enjoy the singing 6-banger all the way through 2nd and into 3rd gear. That was fun
Mr. 5-series gets lost behind me in a shuffle of cars as the lanes from the toll booth all converge down to three. With a smile on my face, I am headed for the g/f house to pick her up for dinner

I always wondered how the dual cam six sounded at 7,000, I guess I will have to buy one to find out. I always liked toll road for this reason, you get an excuse to do a 0-60 run every time you stop!
