Yep pullies dont do much to an M5 but with chip, plullies and exhausts you get like 20-30Hps...and that make a diff...

SL55 is definately faster then M5 but only after 100km+...

what about the E55 and RS6?

I saw that German video where they tested all three car and drag race all three off the line. The E55 just took off like a beast and by the time they get to the finish line the RS6 was a car length behind E55 while the M5 was another 2 car length behind the RS6.

The rs6 gets off the line well and has an advantage from the line over the m5 and i would have thought the e55 would have had a couple more lengths over both. Theres alot of variables in an off the line race and often the true story isn't revealed.

The M5 is 3 tenths quicker = 3 car lenghts...

True that. The only problem with the E55 is the computer, and too much torque. The RS6 gets the jump on it every time, but one the E55 gets grip, watch out. There is a lot to be said for AWD. Especially on drags..

There is aslo a video by german mag where E55 beats everybody....M5 beat RS6...
They tested 0-62 ....M5 did in 5.2 and rs6 in 5.5...

stock rs6 runs 13.6 where us some M5 owner's have proved that stock M5 can do 1/4 in 12.73....

These numbers are from Road & Track which they tested the RS6, StypeR, e39 M5 and the w211 E55 all together.

E55/RS6/M5/StypeR

0-60 4.2/4.6/4.8/5.2

1/4 mile 12.4/13.1/13.3/13.7

mph through 1/4 mile 116.4/106.3/108.5/102.7

I would have to totally disagree. The M5 does not beat the RS6. When the RS6 first came out, every high end car mag put them in the E55, RS6, M5, Jag S Type-R, order. Everyone. Watch this...

M5, RS6, E55

Well, I dont trust much those magazines....From my life experince...2nd gear rolling start, I was dead even with stock RS6 until 160-180...then would slowly pull...

Stock RS6 does 0-200km (125mph) in 18.7, M5 does in 17secs...

from the mph passing the 1/4 mile mark, the RS6 slows down at higher speed probably because of the 4wd while the M5 makes up ground.

I am not talking about the magazines... ANd the M5, Euro, which has more HP, is limited at 155, where the RS6 isn't. Tested on the Track (See previous post), it was eyed doing 180+ The RS6 is leaps and bounds over the M5, everyone on the Bimmer forum knows it and so does the rest of the world. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the V10 M5...

My 1/4 mile timings are as follows:

Air temp = 32 degrees celsius
0- 62mph = 4.521 sec.
1/4mile = 12.833 sec.

speed = 116 mph

Ahmed, That combination of relatively slow ET but high trap speed suggests to me you're either severely traction limited or are getting bad launches.
