2005 C230 Sedan 6spd
05 C230SS 6spd vs. 03 VW GTI 1.8T 5spd

Going to have a run with a friends GTI 1.8T few days from now, and will probably start from a 20MPH or 40MPH rolling.

03 GTI 1.8T 5spd

-Intake and ECU upgrade
-Sound system and Sub (Extra Weight)

vs.

05 C230SS 6spd stock

-Mille Miglia Wheels 17X8 and Blizzak LM-22 tires ( My winter setup, don't know if it will make a differents)

-I plan on running with 1/4 tank fuel and a clean trunk....hope it helps reducing weight.

I'll probably ask another friend to take video so I can post it later~

Before I run, anybody got comments?

Yeah.... agree w/ Benzo.... I put my bet on 1.8T.... doesn't mean to offend you.... the car is quick.... tried my bro-in-law w/ stage 3 turbo, intake, ecu, header, exhaust, etc...... it's faster than my bone-stock E55 until 100mph.... the biggest problem is to launch the car properly.... pretty hard to do for a FWD car.

1.8T (stock figure)

180 HP @ 5500 RPM
173 Torque @ 1950 RPM

C230

189HP @ 5800RPM
192 Torque @ 3500-4000RPM

I believe he has APR stage 1 chip. Putting him at 200HP and 243Ib/ft of torque. and he has a Intake. so Maybe he's running around 210HP and 250Ib/ft of torque...I am just guessing with the numbers.

He's a friend and we are just running for fun, so I am not worried. Thanks for the input, I'll do my best to represent MB.

Its going to be a Supercharged 1.8L vs. a 1.8 Turbo. Outcome will be interesting.

I would have thought the APR would put more on the 1.8T...at least it does on the Audi side. My stock 1.8T figures are 170HP and 166TQ...with APR Stage 1, it brings me up to 215HP / 245TQ on 93 octane (without injectors).

I think it'll definitely be an interesting outcome, good luck!

Go for APR Stage 3.... you'll be amazed how faster your car would be.... and I guess your 1.8T is a quattro.... so launching the car wouldn't be as hard as Golf 1.8T... not sure about the number (I think 300+ hp & 300+ tq).... but my bro-in-law's could typically get 1/4 in mid 12. When he had a bad launch, 1/4 would still be high 12 (still better than my bone-stock E55 that's in low 13s ).

BTW, I'm not familiar w/ Audi..... whether the chassis and transmission could handle APR stage 3. Golf anniversary edition could for sure.

from what I'm reading, the transmission should be no problem handling the APR stage 3. But clutch, flywheel, etc will probably need to be upgraded.

The APR stage one is just a ECU reprogram, nothing else...not too bad for pumping up the specs. Stock 1.8 Turbo is putting out about 7-8PSI, only 1/3 of what the stock turbo can safely handle. The reprogram brings it to about 14-16 PSI, which is still within limits and gets good numbers for the programming

Definitely be nice to get stage 3, hehe.
