93 400E v. Acura TL 3.2
Driving north on the 5 near Camp Pendelton Saturday morning, coming back from about 12 hours straight of playing poker. I'm driving 75 in the fast lane, and here comes an Acura TL with a BAD aftermarket paintjob (some kind of bright metallic blue) behind me. The guy is riding my *** so I get over, and he pulls even and looks at me.
I'm just looking straight ahead, still going 75. Dude in the TL paces me like this for about half a mile, looking over at me a few times. I'm thinking, why does the guy want to do this? Does he think the blue paint made his car faster? Anyway, I finally look left, then take off.
He hung in there for a few seconds, then once we got to about 115 he kind of gave up. He was about one and a half carlengths behind at that point.
This was really my first time racing a guy all out on the freeway like this, and I've never really floored the accelerator at 75 before. It was pretty impressive, much more pull at that high a speed than I expected. I don't know if it was an even match or what, but it was a good laugh.

Good run
This was a non-typeS? Due to the gearing on those automatics, ~110mph is the end of 3rd and 4th & 5th is overdrive. Shifting into 4th is like hitting a brick wall.

If it was a TL type S he could have taken you easily, or even the new TL. But if it was the base TL from a few years back then you would have won hands down, no contest at all. Nevertheless, excellent kill.
