98ML Window switch drvr side replace cost !
Just recently moved to Hawaii (Hint$$$) called the stealer and they mentioned parts and labor $600.00 to replace or repair the power window switch on DRIVER Side. Does the price sounds right ? Suggestion anyone ? ALOHA $$$$ !

The switches are all in one unit. The entire unit must be replaced. This was a common problem with the 98's. As far as the cost is concerned, 600 bucks including labor sound a little high. Should be about a 2 hour job. Do not know what the cost of the module is but they are not expensive, maybe a couple of hundred bucks.-

Hey!
I followed rodney's instructions after my 2000 ML430's driver side window got stuck in the down position in Ottawa Canada in January (read: snow & ice). The instructions were easy to follow and i had the switch working in 2 hours. All you really need is a screwdriver.

it took the Benz service person about 30 minutes tops (actually probably less) to replace the whole thing... so how much do they charge per hour over there? 
$1000? (assuming parts are 100.. and 500 is labor for a 30-minute job)

I had the same problem and followed the same DIY instructions involving taking the switch unit out, disaasembling and bending the contact so that it work. Took me about 3 hours to do. Try it - the instructions are pretty good.

ML window switch
I had my driver window switch stop working. I bought a new switch unit from the dealer for a little more then a $100. Installed it myself without a problem. I was curious about why it stopped, so I took it apart, it wasn't bent contacts, one of the plastic pieces that push the contacts had cracked.
