Just crossed over...
I just dumped my M3 for an ML320. I have betrayed my compradres and crossed over to the "dark side". What am I in for, guys? The roadfly guys gave me **** for my decision. HAHAHAHA

Welcome to the group - It's unfortunate, but I do see more MB-to-Lexus and MB-to-BMW converts than vice versa, and that's because mainly of MB's quality problems in many of the early ML's and some other models around '97, '98.
Assuming you are talking about build quality, maintainence problems, etc., I think the general consensus is that a lot of the early ML's (around model year '98, '99) were low-quality and bug-full (if that's a word), and that the '00, '01, and '02 model years have gotten much better progressively. But if you happen to have a '98 or '99, you could be lucky and might have a trouble-free ML.
