Source for Running Boards? Advice?

I am thinking of having some running boards put on MY 2002 ML500 Sport

Any advice / suggestions? Match the body? or Metal? not chrome!

I am considering this because I think that it will make it easier to get our kid in and out of the car seats in the back.

The OEM part is nice but it is $950 + paint.

I got mine from runningboardwarehouse.com. They're much cheaper and are painted OEM to match. I have three small children and it's perfect for them. I like them better than the OEM design cause they stick out less. The OEM design sticks out past the wheels. This one seems more "lo profile". You'll have to install them yourself, but you're saving over $600! Hope this helps.

Thumbs down OEM Running Boards

Don't waste your money on the factory/dealer installed running boards. Ours and all that I have seen do not fit well and look like some sort of an "after market" misfit. We have had ours back to the dealer several times and they cannot make them fit. I would stick with the tube type bars, they look more rugged and also fit well.

I have some some OEM running boards that i am trying to rid of. I will get some pictures for you, but the only thing that is missing is the driver side front cover. It has the lights built into the running boards. I will get some pics for you. I am letting it got for $150.00.
