Maitenance Indicator

Got an oil change coming up, and I was gonna go to the shop that does my other vehicles. Question is, after having the oil changed, how do I reset the maintenance thing? Will I have to stop by the stealership and have them reset it or can I do it myself? Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

OK, I found it in the manual, sorry for the dumb question. This will be the first oil change done outside the warranty, so I'm taking it to the independent shop where the rest of my vehicles go. Next time, I'll check the manual and search the forums b4 asking questions.

I've got a 2000 ML320, and I've got the instructions on how to reset the maintenance indicator, but I can't get it to work. I feel like I'm trying to crack a safe...
turn key to position two...
immediately push button one twice within one second...
etc...
etc...
any help would be appreciated!

It is on page 88 in the online owners manula found at mercedes-benz.com under the owners online section after you register.

I learned of the new oil level indicator there also just now!

In summary:

1. Turn key to position 2
2. Press button 1 twice immediately
3. Within 10 seconds, turn key back to position 0
4. Press and hold button 1, while turning key to position 2 again. Continue holding button 1. After approx. 10 seconds, a signal sounds and displays 10,000 miles for approx. 10 seconds.
5. Release button 1

I think he's referring to the button on the dash.

Button 1 is the one on the left of the speedometer - the same one you use to check the service indicator or FSS. Resetting the system is really straightforard as posted earlier. If your's isn't getting you anywhere, just take your time. Position 2 of key is simply until all the dash lights come on. Where it says to do it immediately, just do it carefully - don't ruch to have it done in a nanosecond!!! Position 0 is key in OFF position - no lights on dash!!!
