Today my car was shaking in the morning, I did not think much of it. After work, the car will not even start, not even the starter.....DEAD!! even the door locks, radio nothing..... so someone jumped started it for me.....I took it to the midas accross the street...my question is, anyone had something like that? is the batter? alternator? starter? and do I need to take it to the dealership because the radio is asking for a security code????

The no start was and is most likely the battery. However the shaking should not be related to that. I have had 3 batteries in my 02 ML500. Re the radio code, it should be in your ownership package. Just punch in the numbers on the keyboard and hit the enter button. If you do not have the code go to the dealers. Actually you should go there anyway to have the battery replaced and the shaking diagnosed. You are most likely still under warranty

Batteries are about 100 bucks or so and a little more to install

 

We have a 2001 ML 320 and when the battery died I checked all over to find a replacement. Only one place could order one (Car Quest) and no one had it in stock except for the MB dealer. Seems like the ML takes a special size unlike my SL. As it turns out the MB dealer was within about 2 bucks of the price from Car Quest so we went with the dealer.

 

Search for "Douglas Battery" on google.
Call their 800 number, they will tell you which store [near you] carry their batteries.
