ML Headlights

Hi.

I'm thinking on doing an upgrade to the headlights of my 1999 ML 430, so i'm planning on changing to the new 2002 headlights.
Does anyone know any sites where I might find some good prices?

Thanks in advanced...

yes, they'll fit. i just installed them on my 2000 ml320. when you buy it from performance product they're sell you a pair of adapters. the install is very easy but adjusting the beam may require the dealer.

Did the PP headlight assemblies provide a much better light pattern than an HID bulb/ballast kit? Did the headlight leveling prove to be a problem? I'd like to add xenons, true xenons, to my ML430.

I read somewhere that the PP Bi-Xenon headlight assemblies for ML (made by Hella) doesn't work well with 2002 ML with Halogen. Like the light will "flicker" or something. Does anyone know if the problem has been fixed or if Hella has came up with a solution already? I am looking to purchase the Bi-Xenon for my 2002 ML500 if the issue has been resolved already. Does anyone has any experience installing those Bi-Xenon headlights on "2002" ML?

The install is very simple. there's three screws per side to loosen then, gently pull out the entire lamp assembly. there's two plugs in the back. it should take no more than 45 min. The only thing is you will need to adjust the beam pattern which may take some time.

Pjnsf,

Are the ballasts in the headlight assemblies or did you have to wire those in? PP kit for ML430 is $1300, you can get the same Hella bulbs and ballast for under $600. Was the lense and reflector swap worth the difference?

MLDude, the bi-xenon's that PP sells is the entire headlamp assembly. Thus your 2000 ML will have updated 2002 ML headlights. The hella bulb and ballast is all built into the headlamp assembly. Also since these are bi-xenons, both your low and high beam will be xenon vs getting the bulb and ballast upgrade will only get you the low beam xenon. I'm extremely happy with my new lights. its a big difference compared to my old halogens.

Call PP and ask for Richard in sales. Ask him about the group buy on bi-xenons and say you're from the mbnz.org forum and he'll sell them to you for about $1,100 plus tax and shipping. One more thing since you're in So Ca, you may consider picking the lamps up from PP. My lamps we shipped via UPS and were damaged. I've read that this happens quite frequently.

Do PP also carry the side mirror turn signals as well? coz i'm seriously thinking of revamping my '99 ML 320 to the updated version 02 ML 320.

So far this is what i think i will have to changed:

-Add paint finished (make it a one tone colour)
-front & back bumper
-Bi-xenon headlights
-side mirror turn signals
- 5 spoke alloy wheels

do they carry all this accessories?
