BAS=brake assist system - the system automatically increases brake pedal pressure if it senses a panic stop situation. Panic stop to the system means very hard braking with brake force constant or increasing after a set amount of time, usually in seconds.
ESP=electronic stability program - if you get really stupid and start sliding, the system will do all it can to stabilize the vehicle. By playing with the brakes and the ABS, it selective decelerates one or more wheels to achieve a stable situation. ESP is good to 25MPH, beyond that, pray.
As far as these lights coming on, it's very common with MLs and that's probably why your accelerator is not active. Shut car off and restart. This usually resolves the gas pedal thing - happened to me once in the rain, the system would not allow me to move the shifter from P. I think you have a version of my problem.
As for the cause of these lights coming on, it ranges from the brake sensor (usually the ABS light would come on also) to a bad control unit somewhere in the system (your problem).
Turn car off and start again - I think that will resolve the problem for now. Then take the truck in for diagnostics.

Out Of Control!!
the combination of these lights is I think is sometimes low brake fluid, in your case, I wonder if your brakes are just frozen in place for one reason or another. In any case get this checked by a proffesional.

In my case, the BAS and ESP light were turning on due to brake pedal travel time. Since my pads and rotor levels were down to 3mm.. So if you havent replaced your pads or rotors in a while, it is a safe bet that they may be the cause of the problem.
