what happened to the AC!! help please.
ok we just purchased an ML320 yesterday morning around 11am..
around 8pm my dad came home with it and started complaining the AC would not blow out cold air at all..
I tried for like 15 minutes and messed around with it, nothing, only mild - to - HOT air came out...
I thought maybe it was just used a lot its first day... hah
Today, it still doesn't blow out cold air only mild to hot air and my dad is taking it back to dealership
Is there a possibility that we have triggered something? started up some type of feature we didn't know about when we were messing with the buttons on its first day in our hands?
[EDIT] Car is BRAND NEW and 2002 model [/EDIT]
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.

AC question that you asked
There is nothing that you did. Do you have a warranty left on the ML? What year is it? Tell the dealer to give you a VMI which will show you the warranty work done on the vehicle. Sometimes this will help give you an idea of what type of warranty work was done on the truck.

ooops sorry forgot to mention its BRAND NEW, has less then 100 miles on it and its a model 2002, we just purchased it saturday morning and this is why we're really upset right now... The car is AWESOME for everything else, just the damn AC won't work correctly... its brand spankin new so the freon level better be up there and there hasn't been any work done on it yet.

Yooy,
SO, you have nothing to worry the ML is BRAND new... take it back to the dealer and have it the AC fix. I know it sad that they did not check the AC when left the factory. One thing you can do though when the the survey arrived from MB write some note about your dealer did go thru to delivery procedure. Enjoy, and congratulation.

yea we took it in today, they found a freon leak and gave us a LOANER car...
its sad that a car less then 36 hours 'old' (in our hands) already has a problem... even if its not a big problem, its still a problem that needed to be fixed overnight...
The real part I hated was coming home with a different car and seeing all the neighbors go what the hell, you just had a diff mercedes yesterday ... (we don't live in a RICH area..) ...some came to ask, then laffed that a car less then 2 days old had to go in for service...
sigh

1998 ML-320
Breakdown
Hey, sh*# happens. Could be worse, dude.
Once, I was driving thru "the sticks" in West Virginia or Kentucky (not sure) enroute from VA to St. Louis. I stopped for gas, and, when I got back in the ML, the interior light didn't come on, which I thought was odd. Went to start the ignition - NOTHING! The battery was shorted. When it shorts, you can't jump it off (I tried), you can't even shift to neutral and push it out of the way - you are "dead in the water".
Several "locals" strolled over to ask about the problem. Lots of comments like "Damn! All that money for onea them there Mer-sad-ees and the dang thang won't START? Goolll-ly!".
S'ok. I called 1-800-MERCEDES. Thirty minutes later, a Mercedes ML with "Roadside Assistance" painted all over it pulls up, two guys jump out and get to work. They opened the hatch, and had 5 batteries with them, along with a pretty complete set of tools. Five minutes later they were done. They even reset the clock! Waved goodbye to the now-slack-jawed locals, and off I went!
Don't know if the "locals" were impressed, but I sure was!
