Best way to lower the ML 320?
Just purchased a ML 320. I am looking to upgrade the wheels to 18" and lower a couple of inches. What is the best source for wheels? I want to keep the MB style. Also what is the best way to lower? Thanks for your help.

By doing this you will change the geometry of the vehicle and may in fact destroy many of the good characterisics. Are you willing to become a test pilot??

From a Car & Driver article, 6/2000:
"Because there is so much droop built into the (ML) SUV's suspension geometry, once you lower it more than a couple of inches, it's necessary to relocate the upper-control-arm pickup points." - Hartmut Feyhl, Owner of RennTech and former head of AMG North America.
RennTech did this, and fitted 9.5x20" wheels to 295/40ZR-20 tires. C&D writers gushed over the handling. "The driving feel approaches perfection" noted one. Of course, we are talking BIG bucks here.
Most guys go for the H&R springs, and drop it 1.5 inches or so. Like the previous post said, ya gotta be careful. But, I'd like to do it too!
Anybody else with any thoughts? The guys posting pictures have certainly dropped theirs!
C'mon, experts!
