CAT. Convertor Recall
I don't know if i'm late.... But I just got my recall letter in the mail yesterday. It says to bring the truck in for them to inspect for cracks. If they find cracks they will change the Cats. for free. The letter also says they will refund your money if already payed to have them replaced.

I got that letter a few weeks ago, too. I haven't taken mine in specifically for that, but I'll let my SA know next time I'm in for anything that I'd like to have them take a peek. I got up under there and looked at all of the welds and mine look really good, so hopefully I'm OK. I assume from the way that the letter is worded that even if they find it some time later it'll still be covered. Of course my truck is five years old and has 64000 miles on it, and the exhaust system looks pretty damn good under there. It doesn't seem that any part of it is going to be a problem any time soon.

1996 - C220/2001 - ML430/ 2005 RX-330
I just had mine done today. Got there at 8:30 and they handed me the keys at 2:30. Tired of all that waiting, but it was free, now I have new cats, and the ML is as quiet as my Lexus. Speaking of my Lexus, I am so spoiled at the Lexus dealership - leather chairs, plasma tv, drinks and food, loaner car if I just want to run do some shopping at the spur of the moment with no questions asked. At the MB dealer I sit out in the showroom in some extra office type chairs and watch customers come in and out and watch the clock. No loaner car unless you schedule it weeks ahead of time and they decide to approve it. Free water from the fountain, otherwise they have a coke vending machine where you can buy $1.50 cokes. Can you tell I had a LONG day at the dealership?
