Awaiting a new arrival...
WTB: ML55 Stock Exhaust

Trying to find someone that has upgraded to an aftermarket exhaust from that of their ML55 dual AMG-tipped exhaust system. If you know of anyone, please send them my way. Thanks.

Would also consider a matching AMG tip to fabricate to working with my exisiting single AMG tip that came on my ML320 sport.

I have a complete MY02 ML55 exhaust system for sale. I am having a new exhaust system fabricated at Kleemann USA.

Email me with which parts you are looking for and we can work out a price. Everything is in excellent condition and I will ship to you.

Cool

Will your OEM ML55 exhaust fit to my 03' ML500 without mod or very minimum amount of Mods? How much are you selling them? Also, How much is the custom kleemann exhaust? How do you like it?

ML55 exhaust

Hi, I already sold my exhaust. The Kleemann exhaust is awesome; custom headers, mufflers, tips.

How is the sound level on the Kleemann exhaust? Is it loud in inside the car or just barely noticeable? How much is it?

KLEEMANN has built Kopmpressed a one-off SS ex system. We will not duplicate this system for future production as it is hand assembled and specific to the customers requests.

You will have a long fabrication job ahead of you to make a ML55 ex sys fit a ML320. The V8 has completly different pipe size and routing detail than the V6.

You are best off finding a tip you like and/or a "stock" DynoMax (etc) muffler and having a GOOD ex shop mount i t for you.

By any chance you're starting to fabricate exhaust system for 03' ML500? If, not what brand&model of muffler/silenser you use to fabricate your last one? Thanks.

Are these exhaust systems designed with performance enhancements in mind, or, are they strictly for sound & looks?

The butt dyno never lies!

(and there are apparently some very, very sensitive butt dynos out there that can detect a 2-3 hp increase ona 5,000 lb truck)

Kleemann, By any chance you are doing custom cat-back exhaust system for 2003 ML500 and what is the price on that? If not what are you suggestion for me to tune up my exhaust. At this point there is not exhaust system for my car yet at lease not at a reasonable price range. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

KLEEMANN USA has no plans to produce a cat-back system for the ML500. I would recommend trying to find a very good exhaust shop (ie. NOT midas, etc.), who specializes in custom exhaust systems. It's not hard to fabricate custom exhaust systems, but it is time consuming and therfore has the potential of being quite expensive, depending on the materials used. Hope this helps!!

CoryU, Since KLEENMANN already has experience in Fabricate custom exhaust system for ML500 would you please advise me with suggestion on what muffler I should use to replace my stock exhaust for the mild deeper sportier tone without sacrificing the ride and toque. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

In the past we have used Magnaflow straight through mufflers. Very high quality. Those units will give you a very aggressive note, deep and fairly loud, just like a V8 should sound. The ML55 we fabricated is pretty loud, but the entire interior was stripped, and the cabin was lined with sound deadning material, so that particular ML was fairly quiet inside. It also depends on what else you do with the exhaust system. The ML we did was custom from headers all the way back- sport metal cats, the works. Again, a custom one-off system built to the customers specifications. Do some research with Magnaflow- You'll find what you're looking for.

exhaust

Hi.
I just put Remus muffler on 2001 ML430 and they sound really nice. (bassy hmmm sound around 1300-1700 and above that is just little bit louder than stock)

color coded driver side exhaust window panel for rear bumper(I have sports pkg) -probably around $40
Remus muffler -$375
installation -$160

The muffler is 1 in and 2tips out, so they had to make it 2 in and cut the tips then make it one out. (using Y shape pipes)
Also I got rid of resonator and simply routed the pipe to both side with Remus tips on the end.
I am very happy with the result.
just wanted to share my thought.

Can You Please take some pictures of your new custom remus muffler. I like to see how it was done. Also, can you share some Spec/model/size info on that remus muffler you put on? Thanks. Remus is my number one choice otherwise I'm gonna go with MagnaFlow or Dynomax Ultraflow.
