ML430 battery problems
My ML430 was in a garage for nine months undriven during divorce proceedings. Tried to start it a few days ago; battery was of course dead. Checked cells; acid was low. Filled cells with distilled water and trickle charged for 36 hours. Started reluctantly this morning, but did run with no dash warning lights illuminated. Eight hours later, won't start. Any suggestions?
I have looked on the web for replacment batteries, but haven't found any. Any suggestions on where to find one?
Also, the NAV display wanted a five digit code entered - no idea where to find that or what it controls. Is it just for the NAV system? Thanks.

Here's the link to the one I replaced my MB battery with...
http://www.ibsa.com/estore/view_prod...FVRLMB6BE&js=1
Runs pretty good...
(I took my truck back to the dealer I bought it from when they had to do repair works that the MB dealer wouldn't do (Luxury Motors) and they put the battery in for me...)

You need to find your five digit radio code for the MCS unit to work. If you've lost it the dealer should be able to provide it for you also. My 2 cents.

Put the key in the ignition, turn it to pos. #2 and the LED light should blink once. If it doesn't then you will have to get her the key that is normally used and see if that makes the light blink.
If it does blink then you have a poor connection at the battery, at the starter or the starter itself.

Hello Major
I will try this! I just lost my job after 13 years and my husband and I are trying to figure this out with litle cost. He is very handy with older vehicles. we have a 2000 ML430 SUV- I love it but this is our first MB.
I will try this and get back to you. Thnaks and have a great day!

When my battery died on my ML430 I just called Mb roadside service. They came to my house and installed a new battery for me. Of course they charge you for the battery but I didn't have to do a damn thing.
I can't remember how much it was.
