Nerf Bars

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-05...4637QQtcZphoto

My dad is thinking of gett ing the nerf bars

Would you recommend those? I've heard some good things about them, specifically those. Are they hard to install?

Any help is appreciated.

TIA

I don't like nerf bars. Less is more.

my cousin has them on her 06 ML350... and they are a waste, dont make it any easier getting in, in fact they make it harder because the ML isnt hi enough were you need them to get in but then they are still there when you need to step over em which makes it more difficult getting in and out

Okay, let me clear it up. We need them.

But can you install the mud guards with them?

Yes, the factory mudguards can be installed as well. Mine came with the factory chrome bars, and I installed the guards after, no problem. Only thing I can say is they work great for us, but if you live where there is salt/gravel on the roads in the winter, make sure you keep them clean and waxed. My only issue here is from coarse sand/rocks on the winter roads making the odd small pit underneath, that can make them rust.

AsianML- In my experience yes you can add the mudguards no problem; and the nerf bars or running boards are not difficult to install.

Just one thing though: why go with the nerf bars instead of running boards? In my experience running boards work ALOT better. I have the running boards on a bunch of my SUV's. I put the nerf bars (nice ones) on a car a few years ago - and took them off and swtiched-them out to running boards -- and have never done nerf bars since....

I'd get the factory painted running boards if I were you.

yeah yeah yeah.

But we need the nerf bars. If some idiot in a Civic that's been lowered so low that it's like an inch off the ground, decides to drink and drive, and hit's our ML, it will save us from an expensive paint job.

It was a joke.

Now about those running boards you mentioned. How much are they? Which would be a better deal? Nerf bars or running boards?
