MY2004 E320
New Old Member. Switching Forums!

Hi All,

Last Wednesday traded in my Good ole trusted E420 for a MY2000 ML320. I have been on the forums for over two years or so and just wanted to let the W163 community know that I've switched from W210 to W163.

I still miss the E420 but ML is a different beast altogather. Mine has 113K on it already but I think it is just getting started

I bought from a trusted indy dealer that has sold to me before and they did the following services:

Complete transmission service - replaced some kind of switching motor.
Replaced noisy Power steering pump with new unit and replaced fluid
Replaced noisy Blower motor with a new unit
Redyed steering and handles on doors to remove the stains
Replaced all burnt out bulbs in dash and gauges
Extra Key FOB (Dealer should deliver next week)
Some kind of (100?) point checkup
Got MCS Code from dealer (New battery installed)

I traded my 1997 E420 (118K Miles) in decent condition (Transmission and Power steering oil leaking, little scratch on a rear door) and paid a difference of $4500 out the door.

It may or may not be a great deal financially - but I think I came out okay - specially because I like the ride in this thing and most services are done now. One item I noted today was that fuel gauge does not go above 3/4 which is a common fuel sender problem. I called them and the dealer said he will look into it. They are so reputed that they might do it as a courtesy.

I have ordered a cd changer unit from ebay with bracket that should arrive this weekend! Love the MCS! but miss the Xenons - For the cost to replace them, I think I will continue to miss them.

I also ordered the IPOD cable that plugs into CD changer slot behind the MCS but according to posts, you still need the changer unit for MCS to recognize the cable first time.
