O2 sensor question ??

hello,

I own a 98 ml320 with 38k miles that needs an O2 sensor. Its warranty expired 4 months ago. My dealer called and told me that it is not covered by the emission warranty. My extended warranty does not covered that either.

Can somebody help me understand why an O2 sensor is not covered by the emission warranty?

Thanks in advance ...

Since the check engine light is a common occurence on new MB's, I called MB USA to inquire. I learned that MB emission warranty is 3 years/50k miles whichever comes first (however the 4 year bumper-to-bumper warranty generally covers it).

So get your checkbook ready if your vehicle has passed the limit. It's a $400 job.

Regards,

Went thru 3 of them in my 98. None in my 02 so far. Dealer told me when I had the 98 that the cost on none warranty O2 sensors was about 275 installed
