Vacuum locks?

Agree with you about how loud the locks are in the M. They're not nearly that loud in the other MBs which are also electric. Older models had a vacuum central locking system, which I had on a few Audis. Also, old American cars had vacuum, but I don't think any domestics have vacuum these days. Too problematic...

They may be problematic, but it's much nicer to not hear the lock.
Sometimes, I can hear it from 20 feet away. It's embarassing sometimes when my friends ask why the heck it's so loud.

Tell them it locks like a bank vault! They are noisier outside than in...just the engineering and probably no sound deadener on the inside surface of the exterior panel of the door.

tell them its a BAD *** truck and you need to keep the BEAST locked in, usually a little easier to pull off with the 5.5 to back up the "bad assness" of the vehicle.
