My MCS internal picture.
Hi, All,
I'm new here and just want to share a picture of MCS internal where I'm going to be doing some splicing to add RGB/video converter box for a backup camera. The cable I'll be splicing is on the right side of the picture with 15pin connector below 3pin connector next to the shielded tuner. The board you see in the picture is below the cassette tape mechanism which is removed. Please let me know if anyone want to see particular parts and I'll try to take picture and post them. Thanks,
Winston.

can you post which wires you are specifically tagging in to? What parts are you using? and are you using a switch to jump back and forth from what appears on screen to your video source?

WOW! thats exactly what I wanted to do
Can you tell me which exact wire are you splicing? Maybe a picture? and Where did you get the TV/Video Box? will this force video onto the screen whenever reverse is on or it is something that will work via the NAV or PHONE button? Where will you insatall the camera (color or BW?) Are you powering the camera via the reverse lights?
Sorry for all the Questions. I am excited! Fianlly someone dared to pek inside the MCS black Box

wire.
Hi, I don't have the information with me right now at work but that 15pin connector has RGBs lines(pin 4-7). Yes, there is a switch to bypass or convert in the converter box. The backup camera video source is automatic switching when the gear goes in Reverse.

splice
Hi, I'll post some picture after I get it done. Probably this or next weekend. I still need to figure out what brand backup camera to get. The converter box is from tvandnav2go which i got for very good price through a group buy and the wire information is supplied with it for DIY retrofit. The backup camera source will be automatically switched on based on the input from backup light status. The DVD/TV input has to be manually switched on if you want to view that source. Please let me know if you have other questions and I'll try to answer them.

Hi, I have navigation with my MCS so it'll be different for yours beside I haven't done the mod yet. All I know right now is RGBs pins on the connector. It is RGBs starting from pin 4-7 of the 15pin connector in the picture.

I think there are 9 wires. 4 in, 4 out and 1 ground using DB9 connector. I'll have to check color/name when I get home. Do you have the same unit as me?
