BRAKES Please Help

Several members has changed their front and rear brakes themselves. I was wondering.

1. After removing the brake caliber, do i need to remove the brake fluid line or leave it attached?

2. Torx 40 will remove almost all of the bolts on the front and rear?

3. after I remove the brake caliber, how difficult is it to remove the front and rear Brake Disc?

Please help, I am tryin to gather all of my info for this brake job. Any instructions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Thank You, and wish me luck...

If you are asking questions like that the results of your brake job will not be good. Thats not a good outcome for working on a very important safety related system. Suggest that you have someone with you thats done it before to walk you thru it.

If your changing the rotors. Once the caliper is removed its one Philips head screw on the fronts to remove the rotor and easy on off. The rears you have prey off pretty hard because there is the e-brake which is a drum brake attached thur the middle. As for the brake grease??? hardly anyone uses that but its appealed to the rotors dont quote me on this I think its used for the anti-squeal purposes. Does this help? be more specific if your changing the whole assembly pads rotors sensors there is a lot more to it. I also agree and think you should get them changed by professional.

Brake job

Check this out. You don't identify your car. This is a 55:

Do not take the caliper apart with Torx. No torx is really necessary for the job with the exception of maybe the rotor retaining bolt. Mine was an allen (OEM) and the replacement that came with the new rotors was a torx.

Thank You

Thank you for everyone's advise and opinions. The job took about 2.25 hrs for all 4 brake pads. The first one took a little longer but the rest was no problem. All of the calipers were 2 pins and thaz it....
