HESITATING ON UPGRADING W163 to W164
I currently own a W163 2000 ML 320. The car has many small problems and I'm thinking about upgrading to a W164 ML 350. Is this a good choice? How much of a driving feeling difference is it between the two?
I don't like how the ML320 handles and drives, it doesn't feel like a mercedes. Is the ML350 better?

Hi,
about the w164, considder waiting for like 2 years to 3 years before buying a w164.
For the w163, try to get a later ml350, 05. The later model w163, will feel like a mercedes, and drive like a true suv.
I hope this is enough info.
Need to know anymore, just post on here, and somebody will reply to your post.

After 2 W163's I took delivery of a W164 ML500 last Sept. There is no comparison between the two. The W164 is far superior to the W163 in ride handling and fit/finish. My W164 has been flawless with not even one small problem. Do it!!

I totally agree with sosh. The 164 rides much different - better???- than the 163. It's not based on a truck frame like the 163 and it has many many upgrades. There are still problems, but you'll never get away from problems unless you buy a Lexus. Personally, I still like the feel and look of the 163 better.
