Why not just trade it for an ML500 or an AMG. Why would you try to make yours what it is not.

well i really dont have the money right now because my sons ml just broke and the estimate to fix it was 12k one day and then the next day the dealer called and said that it would be 17k because they found something else wrong. So it is messed up bad and im gonna have to pay to fix it or ill just let the dealer take it im not sure yet because the car may not even be worth that. And I can get the amg body for cheap from a guy i know. I cant just throw around cash like some of the guys on here. And I know the whole lexture on if you cant afford to fix it dont buy it but i bought that for 28k a few years back and i didnt expect to have to pay 17k to fix it. So about the HP anyone have any ideas.

17K for a repair is salty to say the least. What on earth broke that is that expensive?? Has your son been abusing it??

i am positive that he hasnt abused it because that is his pride and joy and he knows the cost to fix it. the dealer said that he shot a piston out the side of the block and cracked it or somethin like that the dealer said that it was not intentional but is not entirely uncommon for it to do this it is a used 2000 that I bought in 2003. I should have gotton him a 2002 or newer because of all the problems with the 01 and older but i didnt want to spend that kind of cash on a teen. But i also have a 2000 and i havent had any problems except for minor things.

yea thats straight, spend money on an unnecesary amg body kit rather than trying to fix your other ml. sometimes you just wonder... even if your getting that for cheap, your not willing to spend money on your other ml so why would you spend money on your perfectly fine ml

the 2002 ML320 uses the same engine as the 2000. But 17K for a repair bill anything more than 5K on an ML that old I would just sell the car as is. Even in perfect condition you couldn't get 17k for a 2000 ML.

The best $$$ for HP is to sell your ML and move up to an ML55 or ML500 like other have said. It will cost over $10 grand to make your ML430 as powerful as a ML55.

Broken motor ? .... Just buy a replacement engine from a wrecked ml. I'm sure you can get one from a junkyard , or ebay for no more than 2-4k !!!!!

Drop it in yourself mate!

How often are you going tu gun it?
Why dont you just put a 50 or 100 HP nitrous kit on it.
Thi can be used when you really feel like it and there is no need to change any internals as mb build such great engines and you also won't need any engine management upgrades.Just instant HP!!!!?

That kind of engine failure with a rod thru the block smells very much like abuse. Over reving/very heavy foot and or overheating and kept driving. If I were you I certainly would have a talk with him.

I have toyed with this idea myself. But after reading about this slingshot piston story....I dunno.

Well has anyone with an E320, CLK 320, or C320 ext added nitrous? I think the piston story is a 1:1000000000000. The M112 engine is a great strong engine. Might be neat to add a 50 shot nitrous to an ML.

you can buy a new ML500 engine for your car and give your old engine to your son.

That's a damm stupid Idea !

The transmissions are matched to each engine model.... If you do that you are sure to blow the transmission on both your trucks! The kids ML320 transmission can't handle the torque your engine is providing!

Your only option is to give the kid the transmission also, then buy the ML500 engine + Transmission.... i.e just buy yourself a ML55 truck!!!!

Hmm, why don't u take both your and the sons ML and trade it in for the newer 05/06 models? Then share the new ML or let son buy his own!

well i could do that but the trade in value on the broken ml would be nothing because trade in is already a joke and it doesnt even run! also i have never let my son work because of school so he has no money saved except for his trustfund from his great grandfather and he is not spending a portion of that on a car. and if i told him to buy his own than he would throw the whole "you wouldnt let me work" thing in my face.
