Question HID Retrofit Question...???

There are some new bi-xenon headlamps for sale on ebay that are quite expensive, however I read in the auction that they require an adapter for them to work properly AND need to be programmed at the dealer...??? I thought my '03 is "plug and play" and only needs the xenon enabled at the dealer, but an adapter...??? ANY IDEAS??? thanks!

Installing Bi-Xenon Headlights on 2003 MY ML
Essentially Plug and Play with a Minor Modification Published on Monday, November 24th, 2003 by AndyFracica

To make the Bi-Xenon headlight assembly work with the exisiting wiring harness on the ML you must connect the two grounds together. This modification essentially connects the two grounds on the Bi-Xenon connector together which allows you to use the stock ML connector to plug into the back of the headlight assembly.
