ML430 A/C question

Hello all....new to the forum....
I bought a 99 ML430 (59,000 miles) about 4 months ago. I love the car, haven't had a problem with it...until now. My job has moved me from the Florida panhandle to south Texas and lately I've noticed the A/C is not getting as cold as it did before. It's fine after driving on the highway but blows warmer when I'm stopped at a light.

Here's what I've tried so far...had a mech service the system and change the cabin air filter which did produce a slight change but not much. He also found the aux fan fuse blown. He replaced it and it blew again after a few minutes...

I've read about the problem with this....that there's a wiring harness upgrade and I should also change the fuse to a 40a.

My question is has anyone done this change? I've looked around for a 40amp fuse and the only ones I've seen are much bigger than what I need.
